This is a new tool we developed to use during cam swaps, it holds the lifters in place so there is no possibility of dropping any.

We do have them in stock now for $84.99. We should have them on the web page by early next week. I can post a picture later today from the shop.

Wow, thats strange looking.

I'd love to feature one in a cam-only install writeup on my site

I could do an install with the MORE valve spring compressor and the JPR lifter holder and I bet y'all would sell quite a few

That'd be a great idea, Jon except **** on that MORE tool. This tool is far better and easier all the way around.

BTW, where/how does that thing insert to hold the lifters up?

When you take off the cam plate there are two passages where you can veiw the lifters...it just slides down the passage securing the lifter.

I used Two rods with the hook velcro wrapped around it. applies just enough pressure to secure them in place. I borrowed the basic idea from Alan Futral who has been doing it that way for a long time.

These JPR units look very nice though...mine are a bit finicky. But man does it beat magnets...lol.

Tom and I just finished the Comp "R" style bars last night and we will make sure they work perfect by the end of next week.
Thanks!

Joe, it's been awhile since I've seen a Comp "R" lifter... What is it about them that necessitates a different design?

Hey George!
How's your car been ? To answer your question, the Comp "R" has a slightly different body that makes for a completly different measurement for our new tool OEM vs Comp, Were going to try to mix the two together for a more universal fit, but we don't want the tool to become too loose OEM then just right on the Comp lifter type, so I believe there will end up being two different types. We will know by next week.
Thanks

Joe.

Thanks Joe! It kind of makes sense now (I'm still trying to mentally picture how the tool works in the first place )...

My car's been better... I'm trying my best to get it ready for the N vs. S shootout, but I have some electrical gremlins that are kicking my butt right now. I think I'll have them figured out soon, though...

Here are the pics:

JPR cam tool 1
JPR cam tool 2
JPR cam tool 3
JPR cam tool 4
JPR cam tool 5

This tool made the cam swap a breeze. We were able to leave the rockers and pushrods in place. All we did was loosen the rocker bolt until the was no preload on the lifters, rotated the cam over, and installed the JPR cam tool. Normally, you must remove the rockers and pushrods so there is no extra weight on the lifters. This definitely saved a few minutes not having to remove/reinstall these items. Going from a stock cam/springs/pushrods will require the removal of them, but Justin already had Comp 987s/TR pushrods.

This tool takes the most nerve-racking part of the cam swap and turns it into something you can have no worries over. No need to fret over dropping a lifter and spending a few more hours and $$$ dropping the pan, removing the head and re-installing the lifter.
