Default What HP Comp 224 0.581 112: Search not working

I'm thinking of going with this cam, my tuner says he used this cam and it it made decent power yet still gave a stocker feel at low rpm/idle.

Basically I told him my goal is daily driver, "spirited driving", and occasional track like every other weekend. 12's all day, low 12's threatening 11's if I have a 9 inch sitting in the garage. Not expecting 400HP, but certainly looking for an improvement over my 349HP/359ft/lb at the wheels.

I'm not looking to disprove the tuner's recommendation, but I'm looking to see if anyone else can give some light on this cam and the search is pissing me off right now for the past hour.

This will pretty much be a cam only setup with the LS6 intake + longtube/cat/true dual as intake and exhaust support. My oil pump will be ported, using the Patriot Gold Springs, Ti retainers, new pushrods, LS7 lifters, timing chain etc.

I made 383rwhp / 370 rwtq with a TR224 cam only. Same bolt on #'s as you. Car ran a 12.2 @ 117 with a spent clutch, cam only.

Right now I've been trapping 108-109mph. I suppose the strength of the 224 is the power under the curve.

I'm thinking I'd gain at most 20ft/lb and maybe just as much HP, but throughout the whole band.

I know the TR224 has only 0.561 lift roughly, so I'm wondering if that extra bump of lift of the Comp 224 may give it an edge in numbers over the TR224...

Yeah there is a slight edge 5rwhp at best over the TR224 (assuming they are on the same LSA/ICL)

you should put 380's-390's assuming an M6.....the comp cam has XER lobes and the TR224 does not so you should put out a little bit better numbers than a TR224

how and what kind of advantage does the XER lobes give the Comp over the TR224?

This cam is going in my car on 8/13. Take a look at my sig below for current numbers. I'm expecting no gain to maybe 5 rwhp as I already have a cam in the car. I'm look for a tq gain of about 15. If you can wait 5 weeks, 4 days, 19 hours and 18 minutes, I'll report back my results. Yeah, I know. Waiting for shop install time at a good shop takes forever and the damn clock won't move.
