Default Best Heads for the F14?

I'm doing my build and i'm almost done, I'll i need is a good set of heads... I already have a F14 234/234 .598/.600 on a 112 lsa... I want a good set of heads that are you going to get me 450 with this cam and a little more won't hurt... I already have long tubes, true duals, underdrive pulley, electric water pump, ls6 intake, and a ported throttle body... so i think i'm pretty much set on the bolt ons.... I've been looking at the prc stg2.5 5.3's since they seem to be the best bang for the buck but will they get me the horsepower that i'm looking for? i am also running a 125 shot on top of all this... so i'm hoping for somewhere above 550 with the nitrious... is this realistic from a stock bottom end motor? and what heads will get me there?

I hit over 450 rwhp with the F14 and Dart 205s. I did not even have an electric water pump to do that. I would suggest the Dart 225s thought.

the dart heads seem to have done really well with the futural cams. It did very well in my car too and i am very happy with them. If i were you i would look at the darts, patroit, or prc heads.

They all make a very nice product and i'm sure you'll be happy with anyone of them.

i made 430 which wasn't too bad. I'm still running cats, and i can only fit 2.5 inch pipes under my car. But if you look at how much i gained it was very good, 97 hp and 55 tq. is what i gained with the heads and cam.

So if i were making 340-350 like most do with bolt ons i would have hit 450 mark.

Yea i have seen that comparision that gm hightech did with teh heads. But i wouldnt read into magaizines too much, theres been plenty of dart head combos making great power on this board.

Hey man i am in the same boat as you except i have the F13. I am 99% sure i am going to go with the PRC 5.3L heads because they seem like the best bang for the buck. Now if money wasnt a issue it would be TFS heads hands down. But i think i will be very happy with this setup. I just need to find out what gasket i can use and not have to worry about PTV. Well goodluck man.

yeah i've been thinking hard about the 5.3's and i'm ready to say buy and be happy with them... i don't think darts are that bad but if i was going to spend that kind of money i would rather just go all out a buy a afr head or something like.... do you think its possible to get 450 with the 5.3's?

I think 450 is definately possible with the Fast 90 mm and 90 TB but with just the 5.3l heads and F14 i think you would be looking at around 440rwhp. This is just what i have read about and seen, but i guess you never know. I think this setup is a very stout setup. Everything i have read about this setup, has been positive. Well goodluck and keep us updated and i will do the same.

do you know where people are getting the darts from, cause ppl say they are still reasonably cheap but i can't find them under 1600.... i'm hoping for 450 without it, i do have an electric water pump, true duals, ported throttle body, underdrive pulley, ls6 mani, and long tubes... i don't know any other boltons possible but a 90/90 setup... i would have got that instead of a electric pump but i got it brand new with the inlet for only 360!!!!! so i had to buy it.....

Like i said above you never know you might be able to achieve 450 without the 90 setup but its not likely. As far as the Dart heads i havent found them for under $1600.

I dont plan on revving my motor any higher then 6500rpm but thats just me, i am not sure what my rev limiter is set at now. No i have not changed my rod bolts and i dont plan on it. The stock ones should be fine.

yeah i just got off the phone with patriot they said they could sell do a whole set of ls6 heads and change the combustion chanbers to make the compression 11:1 so i could get the compression 1 want and have the flow of the ls6 head complete for 1295... i think i might do that but i'm going to give tsp a call, cause they always have good info and great prices...

That sounds like a nice setup also. I have just never been a fan or have done much research about the Patriot heads. Well keep me updated.
