Default Got a BIG PROBLEM

I was driving my 2000 Z28 today. And when i tried to start it, i had to make a few atempts then it fired and run good. Got a little further down the road and i noticed a strange noise and my oil pressure gauge was doing some funny stuff. So i pulled into a parking lot, and it kinda sounds like a sreching/sqealing kinda noise alomst like a main bearing. Has anyone experienced this problem or anything like it ???

was the idle dipping when the oil pressure was bouncing around? could be as simple as a pulley going out on you or your altenator. have you taken it back to the house and checked it out? if so where's the squeak coming from?

Yeah i got it back to the house. It nothing like a alternator. Its deff. internal. The oil gauge was just going up and down, never got to low. Its just a undescribable sound

Sounds like a Bearing..does it Knock as well?
If not could be a Cam Bearing.

if the oil pressure has dropped it is probably a main bearing. usually instead of fluctuating it just drops pressure and makes an audible knock. hopefully in your case it is something else.

If the oil was fluctuating while the rpm was pretty stable, then it is likely a bearing...

Yeah i was thinking that it was a bearing. I have a few guys looking buying the car from me now. I dont really have the time or cash to repair it. But im not going to give it away, if i cant sale it i will then just build another motor.

Had this same problem on a buddies Z06, he drove it after a new motor was in for about 15 miles then the oil pressure guage started bouncing all over the place and a loud lifter clacking could be heard. Turns out on of the oil passages was getting blocked. Wiped out a main bearing.
