CamM,
I need to get down to LGM to find out where my power loss is. I have the EXACT same setup as you and could only muster 407rwhp out of it. It will definitely be worth the drive down there to find my lost 35-40hp. I have made a few changes already but haven't been able to get back to the dyno.

Here is what I have been told to do:
#1 Installed TR-6 plugs to allow for more timing and no KR. (done)
#2 Install a bigger MAF (SLP or Z06)
#3 Dyno with my offroad pipes or open headers.
#4 Get cooler air into my Vortex Intake.

My last ditch effort will be to try a different dyno here in town. I have heard stories that the DynoJet I used was a little soft.

Mobius, YES! YES! YES! He had to flycut the pistons, it is mentioned about 50 times in this thread. I had to cut mine too and my 5.3L heads were NOT milled at all. Its not just the milling that causes problems, its the bigger intake valve that reduces the clearances too. The only way anyone is going to get away with NOT cutting their pistons with the G5X2 is to use their stock heads. ANY head with larger valves will run into PTV issues.

Did you use bigger injectors or fuel pump, or go with the stock fuel system?

Good catch, SDB. I forgot my 30lb injectors in the mod list. Now updated.

I swapped out my stock injectors for a matched set of 97/98 28.6# injectors running @ 80% duty cycle. Lou also recommended that I go with the Ford 30's and I forgot to add it to my to-do list. This could be the problem but my tuner said that I was NOT running out of fuel. But maybe if I change the other items it will!

No I haven't been back to the dyno yet. I still need to complete my to-do list, update my tuning and then run it.

Mike, (BurgerMan)

You are only about 8 hours away from LG Motorsports, please take a road trip down here, and we can do some work on the car.

We have everything that you will need to get the package up to where it should be. Leave St Louis on Thrusday evening, and you will be at our front door by 10:00 AM on Friday. We can roll it on the dyno, and go to work. You will be on your way by Sat Afternoon, with more HP.

Let me know if you can come, and we can get ready for you.

Thanks
Lou G

It is great to see all the "Custom Cams" that seem to be very much like the G5X-2.

PS We just dynoed our G5X-3 cam (got 10 more hp on top) and we have our G5X-4 and G5X-5 yet to dyno. :-)

good luck bergerman, I would like to see you have lg fix the car do what ever he has to to find your missing power, than go back to your origanal dyno and redyno to see how it compares. It looks like lg knows how to get the cars running, I agree everyone is ripping off his cam idea, good work LG. The g5x5 has a nice ring to it, maybe one day there will be a g5x10
