Default budget 383 rotating assembly exist?

I have done some searching and was wondering if ya'll could steer me in the right direction. I currently have a 5.3l in my truck right now and haven't even seen what it can do yet becuase I am about 2 months away from finishing the restoration and I just bought an ls1 aluminum block out of a '99 C5! I have access to a set of stock 243 heads that I can do a little port clean-up to improve flow but I will need a rotating assembly. I can find used factory crank and rods cheap and have them reconditioned with a new set of 0.010 over pistons, but a 383 sounds interesting.

This is what I want to know:

I have looked around at 383 kits around and they are only offered as forged assemblys. I am not ever going to go FI, N20, or anything besides n/a.

Is there a kit offered cheaper than the $1900 forged Eagle 383 kit that I saw offered on ebay? Is there a non-forged 383 kit that exists?

Thanks a lot! I am just in search of big horsepower for a 1950 farm truck!

i dont think ive ever seen a kit of this nature...you're basically looking for some crank that'll give you a longer stroke, that is how we get to the 383 in the LS1 motor..then buy the rods accordingly...but ive never seen this. Let me know if you do find something though, as I am interested in that.

you can go the route of 383 all bore, which is what i have. use stock crank, and i have forged lunati rods, and forged wesico pistons in my car. the bore is 4.100

That means you need a whole new block or to get the original LS1 block re-sleeved. In the end that will be way more expensive I think.

i just bought a 383 kit for 2200 from Byun Speed. Eagle crank, scat rods, manley pistons, all forged. it doesn't get a whole lot cheaper if you want something dependable. most Eagle kits come with KB eutectic pistons which aren't really known to be dependable in high horsepower applications.

That ebay price, for the stroker kit, is the lowest you will find. The next thing to it in price is Summit.

$19-2200 for a 4" crank for a 383 is cheap..... Try back in the day when just those parts were $4k +......

I have 7 perfect pistons for a 383 ci ls6..4in stroke,6.125 rod...Pistons have 1500 miles on them..They are a shelf piston so alls you would need is to call up the maker (JE i think ,they say on the bottom) and tell them the part #..1 shelf piston is usally $75..I will sell you the 7 that i have for $200 shipped..

From just looking around some, this seems to be the least expensive 383 kit that contains some good quality names. What's your opinions? (I am thinking about that offer on the pistons though.)
