I think there are some tapped holes that are plugged near the oil filter but Im not sure if you would want to use those. Maybe someone else knows more. Sorry I couldnt help more

Im looking at one of two places with mine. You can unblot that little metal piece thats bolted to the oil pan right above the oil filter. Drill it, tap it, screw in the sender and call it a day. Or you can place it in the place of the oil level sender and place a resistor in the connector so it wont read "low oil"

There is a place right by the oil filter where the Corvette oil temp sensor goes in I beleive that there is a plug in it since the F body didnt have a oil temp guage..if it does not have a plug it could be drilled and taped very EZ.

Same part I mentioned above, and yes it has to be drilled and taped.

if you have long tube headers... i suggest NOT using the plug above the oil filter... before i had headers it would read correctly.. now that i have coated pacesetters.. its getting heat soak from the heat of the headers and reading high temps.. the long tubes sit very closely to that plug... so i would suggest moving it to another place, which is what im going to have to do as well..

I was just thinking that I NEVER see the low oil light come on. I see the oil pressure flucuate from the low oil level on acceleration before I see the low oil light come on. You would just have to check the oil very frequently to make sure you always have enough...

I think the best place is truly the low oil sender spot w/ the resistor...

Have you tried to insulate the sender and wire with heat wrap?

There are a thousands of Vettes running headers that use that location (stock) for the oil temp sending unit.

?? ooooo k.. and??? whats your point?? there are hundreds of people using it that location..

what i was telling people is that i have done the before and after.. before headers i was getting accurate readings of 200-210*.. now that i have header primary tubes sitting 1" away from it..heating up the aluminum plug, where my sending unit resides. temps are now @ 240+ under the same driving conditions, and oil viscosity..

SO... it appears to be heatsoak from the primary header tube causing inaccurate temp readings.
