Default Need input on PCV delete system...

I'm experiencing lots of smoke during hard acceleration and small amounts of smoke during idling. I have all bolt-ons, full exhaust, MS4 cam swap with the 'all goody' package. The cam swap has only 5k miles so I don't think the valve stem seals are gone yet, but concidering the possibility.

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like we have the same problem with a very similar setup.....
I highly doubt it's the seals, the shop that did my cam swap told me it was dumping smoke on the dyno. They suggested I may have a bad compression ring.....I'm not to sure if I buy into that or not. The engine is not fresh with 85k miles, but I would hope the rings lasted longer than that. I have never ran nitrous through it,messed with the rev limiter, or overrevved by putting it in the wrong gear since I have had the car the last 25k miles. But besides that point, I have a new set of heads I need to install, and have considered foing the ls6 pcv conversion. The only think I don't like about it is "some grinding to the block may be required..."

I highly doubt that it is a compression ring because compression check and leak down test come out perfect!! I only have 60k on motor!! One thing if it were the rings then expect smoke all the time, especially when in the throttle!
But that is one reason i think the valve stem seals, but doesnt smoke on start up!?!?!

slap a breather on that ho and change your oil every 3000 miles. No more oil consumption and no more ugly exhaust smoke.

well I only smoke at WOT, and it is bothering me. I don't know if I should try changing the heads, or just buy a new shortblock.

Okay, so you're telling me that I need to do the PCV delete system and if so, what parts do I need? Or do I just need to try a search?

Thanks for all the help.. I really appreciate it.

Which one would be more effective, using the breather or catch can method?

Breathers will vent the fumes into the engine compartment which could give you an odor in the car. In addition they can be a little messy if not seperating oil and fumes. The catch can with the restricted line is suppose to eliminate the fumes. Breathers are a lot cheaper. The catch can with the breather seems to be a good design, dont have my car running right now I'm iun the middle of a h/c swap.
