I went there about two years ago when I lived in Allentown...drove across the state to have them work on my car because they came highly recommended from GMHTP. In short, they suck. They hacked my car pretty bad. Gave me a "Stage II" H/C setup that dyno'd 350/350! Then they wired my TC lockup switch incorrectly and toasted my trany. They refused to pay for the tranny despite the fact that they admitted it was their mistake. Their insurance company didn't agree with them, and therefore wouldn't reimburse me.

I've spent allot of money and time correcting their mistakes.

Stay away from them!!

STEER CLEAR OF THOSE SHYSTERS.I got screwed by those crooks 2 yrs ago. They are a mom & pop operation that does work on ls1 and lt1 as a side job between minivan oil changes. The shop they use is a gas station.Anyone notice it took them 18 months to get Magnum TPI up and running, because they scattered 3 different engines before it finally went 11.90s.A h/c job at Stropes consists of a comp cam,and Aaron Strope spending a couple of hrs with a dremel on your factory heads, for this you pay top dollar. My car ran awful after they got done with it,puffed smoke like a freight train(literally)Bill Stropes response"it was fine when you left here,no warranty".This was after a 160 mile all freeway drive home.I could take my finger and write my name on the rear of car in the oil and carbon buildup. All of this after paying in full Took the car too ARE to get fixed and D-1 installed.Nick says Dave this is the shittiest hand port job I've ever seen, you paid for this.I call Stropes to ask them about it and Bill would never get on the phone, had his wife do the talking. It was odd how he was always available when I was wanting to spend some money.BUYER BEWARE OF STROPES,spend money with sponsors on the right, they are qualified and subject to public praise or villification on this board. I'm done now.....

they just installed a 3200 stall in my car and it feels great. But im kinda weary on anything else being done by them. My father had his whole motor rebuilt by them and all the parts shouldve matched up great but for some reason he didnt gain that much more hp on the dyno than b 4 the new heads / cam / tranny so I just dont know. I like the ppl and they did a nice job on my car no problems yet but im definately going to look at a couple more shops b4 i get any more work done on my car esp being a on a tight buget ( college student)

They are nice people when everything happens to work out okay. When they screw-up don't expect them too resolve the problem they caused.A T/C is an easy install, hard to screw up.I wonder how many others have been shafted, but won't post because of embarassment. You should count your self lucky things worked out.

Here is a nice picture of there "state of the art" alignment area.

Note the similarity in cleanliness and general housekeeping akin to a 'NASA Space Vehicle Assembly Area'

Hey believe me I can relate to Terry and the others they are absolutley the worst. They have never produced a fast car yet. I am from the area and you will not catch a local even putting gas in there car there. People will drive 50 miles out of the way to get their nitrous filled so they do not have to go there. They are unethical, overpriced, ignorant, and do hideous work. Magnum tpi all that money and work for 300 stinking horsepower come on. Why is it that you never read a positive post on any of the boards about them. Please if this keep one person from spending there money there I will be happy. Just remember if you want to go slow stropes is the place to go!

I Will have to agree with all
i leave about 5 minutes away from there shop and believe me
no one goes there
even the import drivers know they do bad work!!
i drive by there shop everyday and the only thing they could do to improve that shop is if they plowed it down and made it into a trailor park!
i see more and more kids these days, now that they are able to afford ls1 and lt1 nuying books and learning how to do it there self!
and as far as there fast *** car
believe me everyday i drive past and it dosnt move!

if you want to trailor your car top a race and have it never leave the trailor go to there shop hence SLP DAY!

oh yeah i know i cant spell it 8Am and no coffee yet

I live about 5 minutes away from these guys. They are highly overpriced, but they are not bad people. I did talk to them a couple years ago about a h/c setup, I said my budget was about $3k. They wrote me up an estimate for about $12k!!! Needless to say I just did everything myself this year, so if it breaks, its my fault. I know they built a 427 twin turbo Trans Am that should put out a ton more power than it does. Like I said, they are not bad people, I just don't think they get the picture. I work on my own car, but if I didn't I'd definately take it to one of the sponsers of this board. Oh yea, and their gas is about 8 cents more expensive than the place across the street. haha

I think they are bad people.Customer has major problems immediately after they pick up car Bill Strope says eat ****=Bad people in my book. You made a wise choice not using them.I own a business and could never imagine treating one of my customer like they treated me.I have doubts about them being in business very long.
