Are you trying to keep it very mild mannered and stock-sounding/driveability?

no, not really. the only reason I like this setup is because its the only one I have right now. personally the only thing that matters to me is abilit to pass smog, sniff and visual inspection, have decent gas mileage(+/-20mpg) , and not be so loud a to get me pulled over regularly. Its going to be a DD with alot of suspension mods for weekend driving, carving up the twists and turns in the hills!
Those are my only concerns, ALSO engine longevity. I dont want to blow my motor in a week

I think your combo will reach your goals and give you great driveability. A friend of mine did an install last year on an M6 with the cheatr cam and some AFR 205 heads with all the bolt-ons and it did something like 404rwhp and 38x rwtq. I'm not positive on the tq number, but i know the HP was there. He said it drove great and sounded completely stock at idle. driving it, it sounded like it just had a catback.

No such thing, ALL LT's are illegal and will fail a visual inspection, tecnically.
according to regulation no modification of the stock exaust system are allowed. The only reason some shorties have a carb # and are legal is as replacment parts. Lt's change the position of the cat's and are, therefore, illegal.

Im sure I could, but I would rather not hae to worry about it.

I should have named this thread "will this get me 400rwhp AND be smoggable?"!

God, I hate my state............................................. ...

So they are only illegal there because they move the cats location? Nevermind the fact that they have EGR and AIR hookups?

Damn Cali sucks. Get the longest header you can then. I heard they'll tow your ride if you get caught without carb #'s out there.

What you need to do is get your car registered in another state, then they cant jack with you at all, fuggers!
