Default wont start after cam + lifter swap

i just finished a cam & lifter swap that took way too long (car hasn't been started in like 4 months)

I cranked it with the coil packs disconnected to prime the oil pump.

I connected them, cranked it again and it back fired once.

Now it will crank and do nothing.

Security light is not on. I have fuel pressure at rail. Help.

that backfire was the rings twisting and lodgin the pistons to the walls... j/k

doesnt sound like you missed anything. if the car starts it will start again unless somthing was unplugd.

im sure someone will chime in with the solution! good luck!

there are 3 grounds on the back of the drivers head. 2 of them go to the same bolt. there are no grounds on the back of the passenger head. one of the bolts has a wire holder on it, just to hold some wires. the other one holds the tranny dipstick in place.

Ignition relay? Switch your fan 2 relay for the ignition relay and see if you get anything out of that.

Back to basics. Fuel, spark, compression. Fuel pressure at fuel rails says fuel pump is OK, but what about the injectors? Are they being pulsed? Coil packs weren't removed from the rocker covers, but are the individual coils receiving the primary signal at the correct time to give you spark on the compression stroke? Separate this into either a fuel or spark problem then work backwards to the solution. How many ground does one engine need. Apparently some engines can never get enough ground. If you changed the lifters the heads and intake came off so the number of things you could have done to cause this problem are too numerous to list. Were you careful in handling the intake? You could have damaged a sensor. Do you have spark? Are the injector firing? Narrow it down and work backwards.

backfiring is what it likes to do when the cam sensor isn't plugged in/or broken. motor spins over freely though? positive timing marks were aligned? crank sensor in? no massive vac leaks? as stated we could go on for days.

The dots were lined up, and i also spun it over by hand with the plugs out to check it. I have a pretty giant cam in there (ms4), so if there was a PTVC issue from misaligned dots, I would have known

Swapped out Cam sensor, and I saw a broken head ground.. Ran an extension to the pass head for it...

Started up first try. It idled GREAT @ 1100.. then it got hot and just shut off, lol. Now it doesn't idle for ****. I guess I was a little too excited when an untuned ms4 idled well. LOL.
