Default Torquer 2 vs. F13

Just curious as to what the general public would vote for. I have a feeling it's going to be pretty close but i'm still curious.

F13 230/232 .595/.585 112LSA
Torquer 2 232/234 .595/.598 112LSA

My goals are as follows:

- low to midrange powerband
- 400 HP, more would be excellent
- really good lobe sound (mmmmm, chug-a-chug)
- aggressive
- budget is around 1 grand (not including tune or installation, unless i can squeeze by w/ a cheap but good tune, unlikely)

Specs are:
LT Pacesetters (dual cutouts on 3" Y-pipe)
3.73 rear
Lid
.... that's all that seems important enough

I saw allot in LS1tech.com use Torquer v.2, where i can see it this cam is very impressive.
if you want to go above 400 rwhp my choice is TSP MS3. an aggressive camshaft with a 237/242 .603/.609".

True, but i'm not lookin' to go too aggressive as to require that i alter my valvetrain soo much.

what about the F14 isn't it a little bigger then the t2... i have mine sitting in the closet waiting to go in... for some reason the futral website says its 232/234, when my cam card says 234/234....

I say go for the highlift f14 or use the ms4. I had a tsp 231/237 and the driving characteristics of my ms4 is the same as that cam and the same as my buddies 228/232. I didnt have to alter my valvetrain too much to run the ms4. I just did a spring swap and ran some chromemoly pushrods. Which the same thing your going to have to do when swap cams anyways. Get the ms4 and run the prc springs that are good to .660 lift. The ms4 makes more power up top and down low over the ms3.

If you're wanting low to mid range power, then I don't think these are really the best choices... My TV2 pulls hard but not until 4k & up, so imo I think something in the range of 224 through 228 would be a better choice... Plus they're have been plenty of people making 400+rwhp with smaller cams like these & on stock heads... Take a look, this is a great thread.

fm13. nice cam, very streetable with a plenty of power. I put down 393hp/389 tq on a tune very close to stock

So a 228 or even a 224 is gonna pull harder than a 230+? At least in the low to midrange band.

F13 here, great cam for daily driving, and makes great power. i got mine on a 110LSA/ICL. i figure my power range to be between 2200-6300 +/- a couple hundred Rpm. great cam man, sounds good too!

take it from me man. i used to run a F14, almost the same specs as the TV2 just different lobes. drove that cam for almost 2 years, (stock gears 3.42) it was fun at first but after awhile and in stop in go traffic it could get annoying not to mention the cam didnt really come around till about 2800-3krpm. anything below that was pretty powerless. i decided to change b/c i wanted the lower/midrange power back. granted i only changed 2 degree's I/E but it being on the 110LSA/ICL really shifted my RPM range lower. it might not seem like that big a difference, but having the power come in 1k rpm lower really was nice for daily driving, taking off from lights/stop signs, just nice having that power back lower in general. it made the car more enjoyable to drive. thats just my opinion of it though. i guess some guys dont mind it as much and dont see the power loss down low as that big a issue. to me it was, especially for a car i truely daily drive. as in no other car to get me from home to work ect.

My vote goes to the F13. But if you are looking for the most low and midrange hp and tq i would go with something a bit smaller. The F13 doesnt start to come alive till about 4500rpm but from there on it pulls like a beast. I wish i had more down low tq and hp but i guess you have to give up one to have another.

Yea i mean dont get me wrong my car is not a dog down low but i think i am missing power down low. I need to take it to get the tune checked out. I bought the car with the cam and tune already on the car. Also i was told that my F13 is on a 113lsa so i am not sure if that makes a difference or not. I really want to start all over and get the F14, but just waiting to gather some more money to do so.

both cams are soo similar it will not matter. Just get the best price.

I have the F-13 and raced a V2 car. Very close.
