I have the small Comp Cam.......216/220 and yes it had to be tuned. It also killed my gas mileage by 5-6 mpg in town driving. Hwy driving dropped down to 23-25 mpg.....where the stock cam got up to 29mpg Hwy driving.
If I was doing it again; I would opt for the LS6 cam or the smaller Comp 212/218.

It shouldn't be daily driven...it should be "How many miles a year do you drive you cammed LS1?" Some people daily drive 5 miles a day lol.

I have TSP233/239 cam, 243 heads, forged pistons, forged H-beam rods, Mac mids, through SLP Dual/Dual factory exhaust. I drive this car 30,000 miles a year. Rain, snow, cold, hot everything. I think i lost more driveability with the clutch than with the cam, and the clutch isnt that bad to me... (Ram powerdrip HD)
I run 55mph in 6th gear with stock gears with NO issues at all.
I average between 18-22 mpg.

MS4 here and I daily drive it. Auto-X it once or twice a month, drag race it once or twice a year, Road course one or twice a year. No problems here. Haven't Road coursed it this year yet.

I drive mine everyday(hot cam 219/228 .525 .525 112) 20+ miles, gas mileage hasn't changed much since I'm idling half the time on the freeway 110deg. I'm very happy with the cam, I just can't wait for the track to open.
