Exclamation rod knock or torque converter bolts loose ?? plz help

i have a 2000 t/a with ls1 i had a lifter problem about 4 mouth ago so i stopped driving the car tell i had time to fix it after that i changed oil about a week later and noticed 3 flakes and some very small powder shavings on the oil drain bolt about a weak after that it started knocking but not when under loud (flooring it) i pulled motor to check bearings but found the torque converter bolts were all coming loose and 1 was half way backed out so could the knocking just be bolts or should i change bearing out to? and if so don't you have to do 22ft lb plus 65 degrees

Id get a lil wear when the motor was new but none after that. How many miles on on the motor. Since its out id freshin it up anyways if your going to go with Boost down the road anyways.

It's hard to say now the motor is out, but usually loose converter bolts (especially backed out halfway) will cause the the converter to slide back and forth causing a knocking sound. A couple of tell tale signs are 1) stretched out converter hole bolts on the flexplate and 2) knocking sound only at idle (accelerating will cause the converter to load against the side of hole which cancels the noise).

Did you check the condition of the converter bolt holes on the flexplate?

Like the pic below? Sounds like you need a new flexplate.
