Default Possibly Cam Time

Need some advice and help to see if I have everything I need for a Cam install (Not including installation tools):
My car only has bolt ons: Exhaust, Yank SS3600, Air Lid, and some suspension. Will be my DD for awhile with the Cam. This car will be for street and maybe the track.

Cam - MTI Signature Series X1

LS2 Timing Chain
Do I need just the chain or a set?

Pushrods - Thunder Racing Heat Treated Chrome-Moly Pushrods, 7.400"

Valve Springs - Comp Cams "918" Stock-Diameter Replacement Springs
Do I need Valve Stem Seals?

Retainers - PRC titanium retainer for 918 beehive valvespring

Valve Locks - Comp Cams High Performance LS1,-2,-6, Gen III Valve Locks

GM LS1 Oil Pump O-Ring
I don't need a new Oil Pump with only 10,000 miles do I?

Gaskets - GM Water Pump Gaskets, GM Timing Cover Gasket, GM Timing Cover
GM Valve Cover Gaskets, GM Harmonic Balancer Bolt, GM LS1 Front Main Seal

Where the hell do I get dowels at?

Yes I know I will need a tune, my plan is to have this done at Harris Speed Works!
This is my first look into doing a Cam and I want to give myself plenty of time to choose the right stuff and get it done right the first time So please any input will be appreciated!

why not go patriot duals, then it comes with everything.
Retainers - see above.
Valve Locks - see above.

Thank you!
I did not notice the Patriot Dual Springs came with everything. Will they fit on stock heads without needing any machining?
Now that I know what dowels are, I won't need them if I have a company install my cam will I?

no machining required and if someone does the work you dont need the dowels.

Possibly? There is no possibly, only do.

Cam's are fun! Good luck!

I would stick with your stock oil pump. The ported pump will not benefit you near what you think. It will show to have lower oil pressure and that has always been my personal fear on those. Even though it is not really an issue.

what about the LS6 oil pump? I hear it's a good upgrade if you've got the timing cover off already.

Did you consider buying a pulley w/ your setup? It's a good time to do it.

It's getting done one way or another
The only possibility is if I should get it done now, or wait till Spring so I don't have to DD the car with a cam in the snow.

I thought about a pulley. I just need to figure out which one. I was looking at the ASP Pulley, is it worth the money??

Does anybody have any experience with this cam and passing emissions?
Also with a cam do I need a lower thermostat or will a stock one work with lower fans?
