TSP 224R vs 228R for my setup...
i go to the track once a month, maybe once every two months... my only other future major mod will be tsp's ls6 heads (ported) but that is a couple of years in the future... i really dont foresee nitrous but im not going to rule it out...
im not going to lie... a choppy idle and nice sound is important to me... can i get a nice choppy sound out of one of these with say a 111lsa?
another concern of mine are the valve springs... obviously neither of these cams have crazy high lift, but how often would i have to replace comp cams 918 springs? would it be worth going with dual springs so i wont have to worry about replacing them often?
i have a great local tuner that will treat my car right, so no concern there...
help me decide...
edit: oh and also 4.10 gears waiting in my garage until i can find a mechanic i trust in my area...

A guess for valve springs would be every 30k or so? Others should jump in on this one. That said, I don't know what lobes those cams are on and that will affect spring life too
On the other end of the budget from a cam/spring swap, you could add AFR heads and a FAST 90/90 and probably pick up 50 rwhp and torque with no downside to reliability and add MPG. That's pricy though. Just don't expect to drop a cam in there without compromise. Even the best packages won't have stock reliability/maintenance though several can get stock-ish drivability with a good tune.
Consider your plans for the car and your realistic situation before tearing into the engine.

so is the most common 228r on a 112lsa? i was hoping to hear some 110s and 111s...
anyway... i think im leaning 228
