Cam install, extended wait, lube ideas.

Cam install, extended wait, lube ideas. Next week I’m going to install my new cam (TR230), springs (918), retainers, oil pump, and timing chain. After the install the car will have to sit for about 3 months before the initial startup so I’m worried about just using oil on the cam. I fear that most of it will run off before I have a chance to start it up. Can I just use white grease or something else that will stick? Maybe I’m worried about nothing, but any recommendations are appreciated.

Re: Cam install, extended wait, lube ideas. I used the LUCUS oil stabilizer part # 10001. It's a VERY thick oil, that can be used for assembly lube. I installed my cam a month ago, and im still waiting for my new heads to show up. Good Luck

Re: Cam install, extended wait, lube ideas. I wouldn't use any of the white assembly lube, what are the reasons you have to wait so long to start your car for??? If you are doing a head swap, before you bolt the heads on dump some oil down the lifter valleys(with the lifters out) or get an oil can and squirt it down in there on the cam. Also I would pour some oil all over the rockers and pushrods before bolting the valve covers on....Just did it with mine and no problem...but then again mine only sat about a day...not months...good luck!!
Re: Cam install, extended wait, lube ideas. Not sure why you say not to use the white assembly grease, worked great on my CAM install and some on the rockers and push rod tips.

Malibu350, I building a car from the ground up and wont have the radiator and fuel pump installed until I get a bunch of other stuff done. Belive me I'd love to start it, but alas I must wait.
I had also considered some of the super thick moly additive. Wonder if they make a lithium with moly?
