here as well with 400ish hp and 390 torque on the stock 10 bolt in an M6 car, thats what makes the difference if its an A4 vs an M6...theres guys running 10's in the a4's with stock 10 bolts.

M6's are fewer and far more between just because of the shock it takes.

I will be purchasing a 9 inch rear within the year.

im running Nittos on the street but not going to the track and certainly not launching the car.

431HP here, T2R diff and TA cover in the rear with stock gears, no problems, been running drag radials for 6 years. Just replaced the c-clips because of road racing/autox. I've launched at 4K on DR's but never have gotten better than 1.91 60 ft.

430rwhp / 403rwtq 4.10's M6 71K+ on the 10 bolt. 35K + on the 4.10's. Drive it like I stole it. Launch @3K at the track.

Bump

I don't plan on doing too much track. In fact, i have yet to take my car to the strip and i've had it for a little over 2 years now. 95% of the time it will see street races if anything outside freestyle fun so i'm just tryin' to guage how screwed i am if i stick to the open road w/ street tires.

you'll be fine. just stay away from drag radials and launching from a stop and it'll last a long time.

10 bolt here ever since early 2000 replaced the gears three times. The first time was because they was'nt set up correct since then 2 times for different gear change went to 4.56 just to see and went back to 3.73's.....and thats in a a-4 and coming out the hole on a 100 shot and 4000 stall with 11.5x26x16 et. streets....that is many runs at the strip since 2000.Now tranny thats a different story. And also my posi. went out and changed over to the tru-trac.......but still the 10 bolt that was bought in the car new.

I'm on my stock 10-bolt. Never been opened once. It is mostly street driven. I've been to the track 4 times and made about 6 passes each time.

IrocSS85 does all my work for me. If its not broken, no need to fix it.

H/C on the stock 10-bolt with about 4500-5k miles since the H/C swap. Got about 35-40 track passes on it, half with a set of BFG DR's pulling 1.8-1.9 60' times. It does howl, but hasn't given up just yet. I 'think' the posi may be starting to go, I noticed during each burn out this last trip to the track the car would make a really odd thump or thud from the rear once I let off the brake and rolled out, and it would feel different while it was still spinning. I dont' know if it was one wheel stoped spinning or what but.. it still ran lol!

wow, didnt know that.

I'm still using the stock 10, and i have been fine so far. i don't really run my car hard though, and if i get on it, i just lay into it. if its really hot out and i think the tires might be sticky from the hot road then i don't get on it then either. I'm really paranoid about that since its my daily driver. cant really afford to have it down for a broke rear.

233/239 cam/ stage 2 ported heads-all the bolt ons..2.0 60'...30 some odd passes on nitto drags and now it goes clunk clunk around left turns...ive got a couple of magnets stuck on the outside of the cover to collect most of the shavings from what i think is a spider gear going south...The F-body 10 bolt has only a matter of time before it blows.

430+ RWHP, 385+ RWTq, 113K miles.

Stock Zexel Torsen 10 bolt, Motive 4.10 Gears, Moser Hardened Axles, Solid pinion spacer, T/A Aluminum cover, set the gears up tight.

I run 315 Street tires. Soon to invest in some DRs and push my luck.
