I had an old comp 216/220 cam with home ported heads. Made 376 rwhp. Trashed my stock 10 bolt with 17in drag radials. Rebuilt it with and eaton and gm 4.10's. It was barely starting to hum. When a vavle hit a piston and made a mess. I was gonna change my bearings and make sure my pinion depth was still right. But now I'm gonna about 450rwhp and I'm just gonna wait till it goes. I don't know what I'm gonna do then. I like to take the car out on the Summit Point so I don't want a heavy 9in or a 12 bolt.

I am currently running on a 224/228 nominal grind and the stock 10. I just got my car back on the road after H/C/etc, but the stock 10 should last me until I replace it with something stronger because I will not abuse it too much.

I'm working on my H/C swap right now and I can tell you this, you're better off keeping it as a "cruiser" until you can afford a new rear end. Or if you are really feeling to need to race, keep it from a roll. Dig racing =

Still running the stock 10 bolt with my PRC 5.3/MS3 6spd TA but I doubt it will last long after it gets the M/T Radials. I also had the stock 10 bolt in the cam/spray Z28 I had. See sig for numbers on it

I've got a medium cam making 380 rwhp. Have an a4 with a stall and a 10 bolt with gm 3.73's. I've made about 8-10 passes on it with DR's. Gears started to whine a little after the first pass, but it hasn't gotten any worse. About to add heads, so we'll see...

well, stay away from the drag strip and you'll be fine. but for me, thats half the fun of having a fast car. drag racing it. but if you got a stick, and heads/cam, and want to drag race it, either launch very softly and give up some ET, or plan on buying a 9" real soon.

My stock 10bolt lasted a month and a half on the mods listed in my sig and that was before the tune. Blew it on the street on a roll in first gear. Tires didn't spin and it blew as soon as i hit it from what i could see of the oil trail. Waited six months and got the 9-inch.

God I really didn't want to read that. Once I get my junk back together it's going to be rough.

I put 30K miles on it with my old heads and cam 420 rwhp and now I am 600+ and have 1000 miles on it. I do not abuse it very much mainly roadracing type driving. I have the auburn ltd slip from the slp package in it. I plan on putting a s60 in there if she goes.

I've had my H/C setup since 03 and the 10 bolt is still going strong. I drive it pretty hard at times with street tires with no problems. I go to the track a couple times a year with my Nitto's. I launch very easy as my times show and it's still holding up. It's only a matter of time before it goes going to the track. On the street it won't be a problem.

I know a guy with a Blown/Sprayed/Stroked Camaro still running the 10-bolt... has been for a while... and he definately puts it to the test...

from what I hear it's really a Hit or Miss whether or not you get a strong 10-bolt from the factory...

Ive been blasting that 10 bolt for a year now. ET 11:78 and launching @4400, slicks and 6" wheelstand. Breaking it depends on torque arm adj and DS adj daily driver and obviously some experience etc. Have moser 12 bolt w/4.10s, true trac,33 spline, still in the box for two months. now im just waiting.......

One thing to keep in mind though, the 10 bolts usually stay together longer under the A4 cars. I sprayed my old Z out of the hole as well on E.T. Drags and E.T. Streets and it didn't whine one bit. But this was an A4 car and oh yeah it had the TA cover as well

wel last fall in my A4 car, went a handful of low 1.6 sixties and one 1.56 sixty and it broke right after that. but it was a well used 3:73. I got that axle used (and prlly beat) and put it under my Iroc. bout 6K miles, and maybe 50 track pass's (mid12 car) then about 6Kmiles under my 95 and maybe 20-30 pass's before it broke. Im thinking my 3:42 wil live just fine under the car w/o the nitrous on it. damn predator, your easily the fastest/quickest car Ive hearf of on the 7.5" 10 bolt. anyone else go that quick on 10bolt? what gears are in that rear end of yours? brand and ratio?

I am on a tsp 233/239 cam with ls6 heads. Rear end is 95k old, never been opened, sometimes it one wheel peels. Car is powershifted on a daily basis on street tires, NO drag radials, or slicks have ever been on the car.
