Spacers for dual chain not enough to clear oil pump. What now?
I installed my crane dual adjustable timing chain today. I go to put the new melling oil pump on and i used the two spacers that came with the timing set. Only problem is that the passenger side of the pump does not clear the timing chain still. Can i grind the pump down alittle to try and clear it.
Any other ideas?

How far along the crank snout is your crank gear?
Mine looked like it was on there right but after I got to setting in the cam gear and the oil pump I realized I had to get it further along the crank.

i think melling has changed there casting a little, just clearance the pump enough to achieve good room for the chain and you should be good to go. i once had a machinist make me some thicker spacers one time. you can make it work though.

Use a marker to see were it rubs of.
