Default LS6 oiling system

Soo what do i need to do to chane my 98 oiling system to the one used in the later ls engines? Also does the engine have to be apart to do this? The reason i ask is because it is out of the car right now. Thanks.

You mean the LS6 oil pump? It's a simple install, pull the front cover off and there it is, just make sure you don't drop the pickup bolt into the pan. Hope that's what you were asking about.

If you get one, might as well get the ported one. The LS1 and LS6 look exactly the same on the outside, it's the guts that are different.

No problem. That's a little cheaper than normal so it's a pretty good deal me thinks!

yep, I just put my ported LS6 pump in from TSP and my oil pressure is normally, "abnormally" high. Like dragkid said, it went from 40-60 psi. peace of mind if you ask me.

Mine damn near pegs out under WOT, normally it sits at 40 idling and varies with the rpms.
