yes definitely get the LS7 lifters, and check around there are always people selling injectors. get anything above a 30 up to a 42. you can always detune a lil and they will work fine.

who has the cheapest SVO 30#, LS7 lifters and some upgreaded rockers?
As I understand it there are 2 GM lifter choices for the LSx's. The standard lifter is used on LS2/stock LS7. The Cadillac lifter is for LS7 racing (revs over 7k, something like that). I just ordered the LS2/stock LS7 lifter from Scoggin Dickey (sdparts.com, sponsor) for about $100.

ummm... it's a machined part that can fail? do you know of any lifter companies that never had one fail before? do you know what valve springs he was running? do you know if they were pre-soaked bewfore installation? do you know anything other than a lifter collapsed? I can post that a chrome moly pushrod broke but neglect to leave out that the valvetrain geometry was wrong because I used different rockers.

maybe if you had some more details instead of freaking out over someone's experience? this is why I reasearch for what I install.

What do you think he's doing? Your the one with your panties in a bunch. Quit bein an *** and respond right instead of responding with an attitude. LSGunZ28, I'm sure there was a reason that lifter collapsed. Just look into it some more before making your decision.

Been running mine for a minimum of 300 miles a week every since installing them with my H/C swap. I have put about 5k on it so far & done some pretty aggressive driving. I haven't had a single issue. Just pre-soak them & you should be fine. If you read something about a collapsed LS7 lifter, it's the first I have heard of it since everyone started switching over about a year ago. Was probably due to improper install or component matching.

LS7 lifters are just fine for your application unless you wanna spend the extra & step up to the caddy lifters.

ive assembled a straight-6 14 liter diesel engine and a 350 gen 1 SBC before and havent heard this about soaking lifters before.

You want to soak hydraulic lifters in the oil you will be using in your engine for 24hrs or so before you install them into the engine. This lubricates the internals of the lifters and makes for less time to "pump up" when the key is turned. Pretty much a standard practice and something you really want to do You don't want to fire a dry lifter.

I went with caddy lifters, a bit overkill yes. But I think I will like them.. because they seem to be doing excellent for high rpms.

also I didnt go with new rockers or injectors. I talked with TSP and they said its not really necessary with my setup.

LAstly... when my lifters come... I will presoak them for 24 hours in oil..

I just wanted to know, for a head cam swap would there be any break in period? I know break in is usually meant for the bottom end for the pistion rings to break in, etc.. but what should I do for heads. oh and ill be on the stock tune for a few days still..

Those people are WRONG. All LS style lifters need to be soaked.
