So now Im gonna buy my lifters
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...95#post7626795
as mentioned in that thread.
But what kind of rocker arms should I use? still my stock ones?
also Im looking to buy new injectors, just in case I ever decide to run nitrous.
so what is the word on these?
2002 f body 346 with tv3 and 5.3 heads, will be making under 450 rwhp. but maybe looking for more power soon. ( over 500whp)
and where to buy all these?
injectors
rocker arms ( saw some nice ones in Jegs)
lifters
thanks

Im looking @ Texas speeds website again.
Im gonna buy my lifters from there as well as rockers. I think thats all I need.
the rest is in my head/cam package from TSP. retainers, springs , valves, guides, are already installed in the head. Just pushrods need to be placed in and i need to buy new rockers and lifters.
hopefully thats all..

In the link from the first post, there is mention of Cam Bearings. I'm just about to do a head/cam swap at the weekend. Didn't buy any cam bearings... are these required?

No. Cam bearings are not required unless you mess yours up stabbing the new cam in.
Personally I'd order a set of the new Scorpion rockers from SDPC to save some money & on the lifters I'd go to them also for a set of LS7's. Great parts & saving money is always a plus.
Don't get me wrong I love TSP. Jon has always hooked me up, so I'm in no way tryin to steer you away from them. So if your wanting to buy everything from them ask them if they cam get the Scorpion rockers to help keep your cost down.

well 2 people PMed me with lifters for sale. as well as a guy recommending SVo 30 lb injectors.
I just wanna know if better lifters than stock can net me more hp as well as injectors and rockers ( I saw somewhere mentioning 15-20 hp gain from rockers) how is this possible? Im pretty sure injectors wont benefit in more hp, as long as its port injection ( as is the ls engines)

Ok because here is the deal
my car has close to 89,000 miles on it. a its a 2002. Im just running a new head n cam on it for now, keeping the bottom end stock
the only thing I need is lifters and perhaps injectors were recommened if I plan on running nitrous. what about a fuel pump?. . . and rockers are just a concern since my mileage is rather high.
Im keeping the stock cooling system, oil system ( with the exception of ported oil pump)
what about water pump, etc?
also im gonna use urethane motor mounts.
I originally planned on running the head / cam for 20-25,000 miles and then was gonna rebuild my engine, is this a good idea?
also I will be getting new spark plug wires, but keeping the old coil packs and alternator.
I may also get a new battery.

Dude your way over-thinking it. My car wasn't cracked open till it had about 102k on it. I put my heads on, stock rockers, LS7 lifters, new stock head gasket & new stock GM head bolts. Stock water pump is just fine. Do not re-use the stock head bolts as they are torque to yeild.
You gotta be careful if you change rockers & decide to go with a different ratio like 1.8 or something. Especially with a aftermarket cam. You do not need injectors unless your gonna spray. So if you just wanna buy a set you can, but if your not gonna spray right away, you'll be pissin money in the wind.
Do not look for HP gain from lifters. Thats the wrong way to go about putting together a solid set-up. Too many people get lost in the race for more HP & forget about effeciency & reliability. You get new lifters to help with running a aftermarket cam at higher RPM's, not to gain HP.

I would. You can get the LS7's new for like $110 shipped from SDPC, so to me its a cheap piece of mind.
Think of it this way, why skimp & not completely freshen up the top end while you got it open?? You would be pissed if a high mileage stock lifter let loose not long after the new mods & you had to tear it back down.

I have stock lifters, stock rockers etc. Hardened pushrods and all the nice springs, valves retainers etc.
I would leave my stock lifters and rockers in if I were him (I have 80k on my 02 and no issues) and go ahead and get injectors for the safety factor and it's better to have an injector at 80% duty cycle and not 105%.
To the thread posted- Are those 5.3 heads going to be milled? regardless you might run into some PTV issues (not 100% sure depending on what all CR and DCR you are running etc and wanting to acheive) and might think about flycutting.

I plan on making over 500 rwhp in the future and will make 440+ rwhp with this setup im assuming.
Also the 5.3 heads will not be milled and my cam should clear. with the cr set at about 10.75:1. tsp assured me i will not run into PTV clearance issues.

I think I am going to pick up some 42#ers just not sure which ones..
I will probably leave the rockers stock but am planning on changing the lifters to ls7 lifters..

I got some injecotors off ebay from a road race ls1...my tuner and I both got a set for pretty cheap. I think they were out of a supercharged bonneville or gtp or something like that originally. At the regular fuel pressure they are like 30 lb or something, at ls1 fuel pressure they are equal to 36's. I could be way off base on that though, have to email my tuner and see if he remembers.

I'm ordering 42# injectors from Racetronix next month. My Heads/cam car was over 100% duty by 6000 on a 90 degree and humid day on the hot interstate. They ahve the Delphi disc injectors. I use 72# disc style injectors on my GN, but those are Accel.
I ordered my LS7 lifters, LS2 timing chain, and high volume oil pump from SDPC.
