MMS is launching the release of its all new Aggressor Line of Camshafts. Our new cams use a unique lobe profile that will seperate us from the competition. MMS, first on the market with the Original 224 cam, raises the bar once again. Our all new 224 cam, as with all our new cams, uses our new spring saver technology lobe design. Power is important, but as we've learned and many have experienced it means nothing without reliability.

For a limited time MMS is offering these new cams at an exceptionally low price, but there is a catch. We'd like to get feedback from all that purchase them. We'd like to see before/after dynos, opinions on valvetrain noise, idle quality etc. It's great to see the #'s from the manufacturer or tuner, but it's even better to see the #'s from the people that matter most, the end user.

Here's the profiles and then the deal
MMS 218 Aggressor 218/218 .558/.558 114LSA
MMS 224 Aggressor 224/224 .570/.570 114LSA
MMS 224 Aggressor 224/224 .570/.570 112LSA
MMS 233 Aggressor 233/233 .578/.578 113LSA
MMS StgIB Aggressor 218/228 .558/.558 115LSA
MMS StgIIB Aggressor 224/233 .570/.578 115LSA
MMS StgIIIB Aggressor 233/244 .578/.602 115LSA (rec for big cube motors only)

For a limited time all cams are only $300 and are in limited quantities at this price.

I'm impressed that you designed a 224 cam intended to save springs . . . but both of the 224's you list have more lift than the popular TR224; how does that save springs? If you offered a 224/224 with .530 to .540 lift for $300, I would snap one up in a microsecond! A 224 that could use LS6 springs with no maintenance would be really cool!

"uses our new spring saver technology lobe design" I believe answers why they can run higher lift yet not destroy springs.

I would love to try that 224/114 lsa for my A4. Can I use 02 LS6 springs? that's what I have in the car now. Also, any estimates of gains expected with that cam? what about idle?

Well I need more detail to be convinced. Lift values and ramp speed seem to be what destroys springs. The "lobe saver" cams are not low lift, so they must have slow ramps. The problem with slow ramps on a 224 duration cam is you typically get a lot of intake/exhaust overlap that causes a very rough idle and difficulty in passing emissions. That's why I like the idea of using low lift rather than slow ramps to save springs. Now if they have figured out a way to incorporate a slow ramp that doesn't result in a lot of overlap, I'd like to hear about it.

I don't remember the 02 specs off the top of my head. We recommend 120lb seat and 340lb open.

Total lift and overlap are not related. Also how the ramp begins to open will affect overlap. Cylinder head design will affect intake mixture conamination. There are a lot of factors.

IMO lift isn't the determining factor for spring life. It is one factor, but I feel acceleration and jerk have more to do with spring failure than the total lift.
Our lobe is somewhere between our original 224 and our last iteration. Idle quality seems to be affected more by the LSA than with the lobe design. We've always preferred a 114 LSA for the LS1 engine, but offer the 112 for those wanting a bit more lope.

how about that 224/233 570/578 115....will that cam make more or less power from the higher LSA? or will that affect total power at all? quite interested at this price. i was going to pay 290 for a used cam, but for this i think i could pay 10 bucks more and go with a brand new one, noone else has. let me know mike!!!

man it's so nice of releases cam profiles for it's customers to stew over, they might just do a little bit more business than some of our other *cough* l....g...*cough* vendors do simply because they're not caught up on super secret marketing tactics, and for only 300 bucks, thats insane. im now kicking myself for ordering directly from comp and paying 385. you guys are doing a first rate job Mike and i'll definately reccomend these new cams to everyone of my customers.

see what diffrence a little more information will do?

Matt,
I don't recommend that cam for N/A apps, but your more than welcome to try it The wide lobe sep Then again it may work better expected. It will really depend on the cylinder head. The wider lobe sep will extend the RPM range and move up the torque peak a bit. This cam may work well on a stock compression stock head because it will help out the exhaust side.

Vince,
thanks!! These cams have been a long time in the making. We really positioning ourselves to be more of a manufacturer/developer for the market. Give us a call if you want to set up a wholesale acct.

Mike,
I have the older MMS 224 114LSA cam from last year. Do you think I should try your newer 224 cam? I also have your MMS stage II heads, they are of older design from you.

I was going to try a stock 98 LS1 in my car. Now I'm going to try a stock 98 LS1 with the new MMS 232 cam and stage 2 heads. Hopefully I can best my old 10.88@127 time? I should have it together in a couple weeks.

That 218/228 115LSA cam sounds sweet for my ATI setup

Mike,
How much more power could I make with that cam over my 216/220 cam?

Mike, I will be changing my 98 heads to the ls6 heads with all the new valve covers and stuff. Heads will be cnc ported and cleaned up a bit by hand and have the stock valves. Will the 224 cam/570 lift be good enough? Is it too much, too little or can you recommend one for me?

I use my car for patrol and do alot of stop and go, with the occasional chase here or there. I plan on changing my torque converter to a 3200 or 3500 plus change to 3.73 gears and ls6 intake manifold. If you look at my sig, you can see what I am running now. I do want drivability, but also want the lope so I guess the 114 would be good enough.

I am interested, I have a new 348 Forged 9.1-1 LS6 block being finished as we speak. I also have a set of ported and polished 6.0 heads that are headed back my way now. This is going together for my ATI kit that I will be running 15psi on. Will this cam be a good choice for my new motor: MMS StgIIB Aggressor 224/233 .570/.578 115LSA
If so, you will have an order for one.
Thanks,
J

what are your flow numbers for those heads. I think it will work good. I think with that 115 it wont bleed off as much boost.

What's why i'm interested in the 115lsa cams as well. It will bleed off less boost which should definately make more power. Plus the 218/228 has more lift and duration then my current cam. So if that cam makes at least 12rwhp to 15rwhp more than my current cam, i'm definately getting one
