Changing the block by myself. how hard?
since my bottom end went out i was gonna have TRT do it but now im considering doing it myself. what do you guys think. ive done it all from rear ends to clutches to H/C swap. how hard is it honestly to pull the motor. and is there a write up. can u pull it just by disconnecting the bell housing?
thanks.

I say go for it. I am going to be doing it with a complete turbo setup this winter and I haven't done a swap before. Your only capable fo doing whatever you think you are, to a point, LOL. Just read up man, whenever I am in doubt thats what I do, than its gravy. I am a ways away from doing this project so I haven't researched in depth much yet but I will be. Shouldn't really have to though. Put it back the way you took it out. My cousin who's a mechanic told me thats how he learned Go for it, especially since you've done a H/C install, etc already. Everyone that I talked to who's done it said its not bad at all. Just looks deceiving when you look under the hood.

Only problem with that is how are you gona get it up that high. You'll probably need a picker to get the body up that high. Could be wrong on this but thats the only way I've seen it done. I can't find any write ups either. Everybody pretty much says to start pulling wrenches, LOL

Go pick this book up at your local book store. Great book! How to build High Performance LS1/LS6 V8's by Will Handzel. Gives you step by step procedure on how to do it. I'm in the process of doing this right now and it's helped me out alot! Good luck trying it w/o a Hoist/Cherry picker lol.
