Matching 241 heads w/Tv.3 or MS3
I own a 98 z28. The heads on here as you know aren't worth a terd. I am currently looking at purchasing either the torquer v3 or magic stick 3 or 4. How would milling 241 heads off an 02 ws6 work with these cams? Is it a good idea? I don't know too much about matching a head with cam. So any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

well with those large cams you will loose dynamic compression soooo milling them would help out your dynamic compression and raise the torquer a little bit. but since those cams are pretty big you may have piston to valve clearance issues which can be fixed my flycutting. but if you dont want to mill you could always run a slightly thinner head gasket. but that wont be able to raise the dcr like milling would.

OK Texas speed informed me there wouldn't be any valve clearanc issues using the tv.3, But i should port an polish my heads. Would i see any difference between my stock heads vs. the 241 stock heads. Basically is it worth $150 to buy the heads. I would think so but if porting my stock heads would gain me the same power then its not worth it. Thanks for the insight guys.

the 241s are a good head to port and polish as well as milled. i say spend the extra money to have the heads worked and then put them on with the cam.
but if money is an option you should definately mill them.

it is my understanding that CNC'ed correclty,,that 241's will outflow ported LS6 heads up to 500.
I got that info form the Chevy LS1/LS6 performance book by Christopher P Endres,,page 70
Im spending about 650 for 241's to get pro hogged by a shop in East Peoria
For the money,,,thats pretty sweet.

Thanks slowmaro. Im definitely gonna buy these heads and p&p.
BadBlueWs6 your spending $650 for the job. Seems kinda steep, but in sense if they out-flow other heads thats pretty good.

What are the differences between the heads on '98 and the heads on the newer cars? all i really know is that they have different valve covers...
P.S. i didn't know you were planning a cam too pat... when is this gonna happen?
