Re: Grenaded motor at shootout
Damn that sucks, what was your 1/8th mile time and ET? I was thinking about spraying 200 on my stock bottom end but now I dont know if that is such a good idea
Good luck in getting everything back together.

104 Unleaded in the tank and the DP auxillary tank. What may have happened is this:
Got to the line and purged; launched the car and it felt weak; looked down and realized I didn't arm the N2O system; reached down and armed the system in 1st gear; believe this resulted in a lean condition because the fuel pump is activated by the arming switch; system was running lean at the top of 1st and into 2nd gear; by the time I got tach'd out in 3rd, it could not take any more.

Damn, that sucks. Having a direct port may be safer with large shots but it is a lot of work to make sure everything is fully functional.
How long do you think it actually takes for the fuel to reach the rails once the kit is activated?

Man that sucks. You need an A/F gauge. Even a simple gauge running of the O2's will indicate a lean condition. I once saw mine go to ZERO when my fuel noid failed on the TNT 150 shot. Saved my motor.... Good luck.

Doesn't take long because there is a fuek noid on each rail. The problem was, the fuel doesn't begin to flow from the pump until the system is armed. That also happened to be when the N2O shot directly into the cylinders ahead of the fuel.

Todd ...
Jeeze! Sorry to hear about the engine. Well, you went from making HP with boost, then nitrous, what's next?... Rocket Fuel!
Sorry... Just joking. This hobby does get expensive.
My suggestion > Put in a modded Turbo Buick motor ala: 89 TTA
Your ol' beer drinkin buddy....

Dave...will prolly build a stout NA motor and run a small shot of the juice later. Possibly a TS&P 396 or something like that. I am not called Reckless for nothing! I need to sell my DP kit before I can do anything though
