I got one i put together with IVC of 38* @.050 and a IVO of 47*. 216/222 Comp XE lobes at .561/.566 lift. 113 +3 I am running stock exhaust manifolds. DCR at 8.32 with .041 head gaskets, plenty safe for my nitrous shot. Overlap at -7*, again at .050, for emissions.

I also don't want to be replacing springs or adjusting **** every 10k miles so don't tell me to get a cam with rediculous lift.

If your running the cam longer on lift I would go with double's. Won't eat a valve then.

Check Thunder racings sight for the CC216/220 with graph, lower lift and ramp rate.

Ramp rate another factor on spring life.

My $.02, I would rather have long spring life for 10-15 hp then change them regularly.

Well I went ahead and bought the slp cam (218/224 .555/.556 115+4 LSA). So the next question is: If I bought some used ported stock heads that flow 300cfm@.600, how much would my powerband go up?? With this cam and boltons, I'm hoping my peak is at 6,000 or so. What would it be with the ported stock heads?

so maybe the patriot dual gold springs would be good for use and longevity? Or would the basic 918 springs work just as well? I bought the cam, but I still need to decide on some good hardened pushrods, springs, install swap kit, etc...

And remember guys, this is supposed to be a budget build. Just got the cam for only $200 off the board here...

You should gain power through the power band, it should let the engine breath on the top in effect raising your power band.

300CFM@.600 are good heads for ported stock heads. You could go with a little less head with shorty headers - you just cant flow. I think that your on the right track with heads just giving you a little bigger field to look at.

Ive had good success with my T1 (221/221) made 400rw and shifted just over 6k. (Its for sale with a set of new springs BTW) I'm sure theres a couple of my dyno graphs floating around here somewhere.

I've been looking at that exact cam for a long time. I figured though since I can only go with shorties, that I may as well have more exhaust duration than intake, so yea. Again, I'm no cam expert, just reading up on everything and trying to make the most educated guesses lol.

i wish i went slighlty bigger on my cam, the LS6. however the peak rwhp is at 5700 rpm. dyno #s are low with this cam. SLP has a cam 559/566 214/222 dur , TPIS 559, 215/220 (ZL11 i think), i called lunati and they recommended 559 221. with 115 LSA. good luck, just my 2 cents.

LSA has nothing to do with it. Overlap does. a 220/220-112 has the same amount of overlap as a 224/224-114
