through that auto it will take a decent sized cam so something like a ms3 or similar will get you there with the usual boltons and a tune.with a cam that big it would be a good idea to get a bigger stall also and a trans cooler.you could get over 400 with a slightly smaller stick but that cam would definitely get you there,or you could check out vengance's vindicator cam also.

is this for a daily driver?

if so i would suggest looking into a budget head/cam setup...as opposed to just the cam

that way you'll be able to use a smaller, more street friendly cam (with the auto) but still make your 400rwhp goal.

something like the 228r with some ported stock heads or 5.3L heads would make your goal and drive very nicely

I was going to get a bigger stall. I just got done reading a long post on that too....... I think i will get a 3500 stall.
Well no this wont be a DD but I will drive it about 2 times a month so I want it to still be streetable. Where is a good place to buy cams and stuff. The only thing I have seen is places like Jegs or Summit..........

K,.. so I have a question for you then. Based on you mentioning a higher stall,.. Are you trying to actually hit 400 RWHP or are you trying to run particular times at the track. I'm asking because your considering a higher stall but that DOESN'T effect your HP level at all. Thats strictly a mod for stronger and faster LAUNCHES! Its much like changing your gear ratio! Not a bad idea to add a stall but it's not gonna help you reach that HP goal.

This is a GREAT IDEA for you! Especially with those 5.3 heads you'll hit your mark and then some if you have LTs, cam and Intake to combine. This is exactly what I would have mentioned!

Good luck!

P.S. Oh and for jcolews6..... UmpA ,.... LumpA,.... Jiggery Doooooooo!!!!

yes I want to hit 400 RWHP. I do not plan on taking it to the track. I just wanna be able to beat some cars on the road from time to time.

100 octane Av Gas would actually reduce your power, unless you raised your compression to make use of the harder to ignite fuel. You FAIL.

But to add something constructive, a larger cam or mild heads and mild cam will get you there. Mid to fairly agressive heads / cam setups might hit 425 - 450.
