What are your average Engine Temps??
Hey guys, i was wondering what your engine temps are?
I have a 160 stat, new cap, new fluids, new temp sending unit.
The car runs around 210. and thats on a nice 75 degree day, i think it should be running a little cooler than that?
My air dam is ok, I even took the a/c condensor out for better air flow. And my fan kick on around 180. Im using a scanmaster to read the temps.
The only thing else i think it can be is the radiator is a little cloged even though it looked clean inside....

Mine runs between 170-190 in the heat. This reading is according to the autometer electric temp guage mounted in the passenger side head. It's in a 90 rx7 using an fbody fan and radiator.

couple years ago i was spending alot of time watching my scanner...so i was seeing what the true temps were.
with a 160 stat
in warm florida weather (not blistering), sitting in the driveway, i could use the fan switch to pull engine temps down to about 175*
driving around, keeping moving for the most part...but all 30-45mph...it would hover around 180.
never checked it on the highway

I have a 180 stat, stock engine, Alum Radiator with twin SPAL fans, I usually run between 180-205, as I have my fans set to come on around 195-200 and stop around 180-185. It all depends on the outside temp and if your moving or not. Also what Cam you are running will change the normal operating temp of your engine.

seems the speedo is the only thing close. no big deal though knowing what is normal for your car and your good.
I have a 98 and thought my car ran pretty cool going off the factory gauge all these years. When I put in my aeroforce gauge I found my temps are like 200+ when it is warm. Moving in between 200 and 220 when cruising and in traffic. I have the factory T stat and need to do a coolant flush.
