Default FAST 90 or LS6?

Is the FAST 90 really that much better than a LS6 intake? Is it really worth that much more money? How much more power does it make than an LS6? Your input would be appreciated, thanks.

In my opinion if you already have all your mods, and are lacking that few extra HP you want (IE 10-15) then upgrading from the LS6 to the FAST will get you that. But if your just starting to mod save your money get an LS6 and spend all the extra cash on other things that will make a bigger difference.

I was wondering the same thing a few months ago and went ahead and bought Fast 90 and Nick Williams Throttle Body but I havent put it back on the dyno yet but as far as seat of the pants difference I can tell it does pull quiet a bit harder by the seat of the pants fell. I am waiting to buy some injectors and have my friend with HPTuners re tune it on his dyno and finish it on the street. If you dont have a aftermarket cam and mostly all the bolt ons I would work on that. Good Luck

yeah i would get all your your other mods first and then work around your goals.. what kinda car are you trying to build? the ls6 is a really good intake and for the money i would not go with a 90/90 set up b/c its very expensive and you dont gain to much from it but like eurospec said, if your needing the few hp then get it

well im building up my 2000. its current mods are listed in my sig. its my dd, so nothing too crazy. i would like to get 400 rwhp in the end for now, eventually, its probably going to be a drag car mainly for the strip, but for now its my dd so im not going to go crazy for now.

I'd say get the LS6 and work on getting other mods first. Later if you want to upgrade to the 90/90 you can always sell the LS6 and get most if not all of your money back.

good advice there....i ported my FAST 90 myself....went from 393 rwhp through stock 10-bolt to 417 rwhp through a Moser 9" with the FAST 90...

BUT i've got a cam too, so that helps. a FAST 90 will be the about the best intake you can get, unless you've got $3K to drop on a sheet metal, but you'll get more bang for your buck if you've got a cam in it too....

stick with the LS6 until after you get a cam in, then save about $450 and sell your LS6 on here and you'll have the cash for the FAST....

Not worth it anyway IMHO. Gain 10-15 hp at 6200 rpm and lose 20 tq at 3000. No thanks. LS6 ???.

Ya, the only way I'd do it is get it port matched for running an extreme N/A setup. Most FI guys run the LS6 intake and stock ported T/B.

I just installed my ported FAST 90/90 over the weekend. I have a mild heads (under 11:1 ) and cam package (228R 114 ) by today's standard.

I put down 425 RWHP and 400 RWTQ before, and I have to be close to 450 RWHP now

there was a little differance in pickup at the low RPM band, but in the 3500 RPM range and above, there was a very nice noticable differnance.

The car revs much quicker and pulls much harder in the upper RPMS.

I look at how much does HP cost.

Look at it at $100.00 per 1 RWHP.

I paid $1300 for my FAST 90/90 and installed it myself. If I got 14 RWHP, Im a head of the game, but I know I got close to twice that.

Is FAST 90/90 the best bang for the buck. No I think a cam or gears are, but it does make the car rev faster with more HP then the LS6 manifold ( which I have for sale now )

ok if all you want is around 400whrp like u said then all you need is bolt ons, and cam and youll hit 400 no problem. your in a m6 it will be easy.

huh?? who has lost 20lb/ft tq with a fast 90/90? everyone i know who bought one didn't lose really any lowend and gained quite a bit up top also i wouldn't get it without getting it ported first.

I made close to 400 rwhp with the LS6 intake. See my sig. Just don't pay attention to the e.t. It doesn't accurately reflect how fast the car is, it just reflects how bad the driver is. I'm sure if I could just cut a good 60-foot I'd be in the mid 12s.

Also, the car is basically my daily driver in the summer and its street manners are very close to stock.

I hope that helps.

I cant see myself spending that much money on an intake and tb. I'm justing going to buy an ls6. I dont think the fast is needed unless u have h/c or more cubes.

Phil'sC5vette, did you mean you are selling your old LS6 intake? if so, how much? what does H/C mean, ive seen that around, but never knew what it was...

ACCELR8, i know how that is...i only have like 340 hp or so...at the engine, but i still cant keep from spinning...

transamfreak01, im planning on doing the intake, LT's, true dual exhaust (possibly dynomax bullets, what do you all think?), and cam. probably some other little stuff here and there...eventually going to go for bigger stuff, but not for years.
