Cam Upgrade Which Cam To Go With??? I am currently running a Comp 218/224 567/567 113 cam. My mods are Cartek S2 heads milled .033, LT headers, LS6 intake, underdrive pulley, ST3500, 3.73 gears. My car is a 98 A4 C5 what cam will give me a worth while improvement and still give me very good driveabilty and lowend torque and pass NYS emissions. Best ET so far has been 11.83 @ 116.8 MPH.
Re: Cam Upgrade Which Cam To Go With??? You are not going to get much improvement with any cam over what you have and still give you good drivability.
What ICL does this cam have. If you are looking for more low end torque then advance this cam and remove any weight you can live without.
You might be geared a little to low with a 3500 stall. A 3.42 or 3.23 might give you a better et.

Re: Cam Upgrade Which Cam To Go With??? I think you could pick up some power with the C2 cam. I wouldnt go any smaller than that. You might as well get XE-R lobes since you have XE ones right now. I dont think the C2 will idle much worse honestly. Good luck

Mitch I run the B1 in my car which is lighter than yours but my car pulls like the larger H/C cars.I have 3.42s and a SY 4000 conv in my setup.Those 3.73s don't seem to get these cars going like the 3,42 does.That new Stealth cam might be worth the look at also. Re: Cam Upgrade Which Cam To Go With??? I don't know if NYS emissions are OBD-II scan, visual, sniffer, dyno roller or a combonation of the above. If strict emissions are in place, with proper tuning a 224 on a 114 LSA should be able to pass. If you go ~224 ~114 I'd have the cam checked on a cam doctor to make sure it's ground correctly/what you order, otherwise there could be problems with emissions testing if the manufactor/shop/whatever messes up and sends a 112 LSA by mistake.
