Mark, I think we should take some of this information and just add it to the FAQ on the CAM GUIDE.

That's correct. Patriot is no longer welding the heads to achieve the desired chamber size. Milling the deck is now the route that is taken.

I hadn't heard that.

I guess they need to update their website then.

Before heads cam tune the car went 12.31@109 1.67 60ft After heads cam tune car now goes 12.01@113 1.73 60ft... Maybe 40 hp gain ???? car dyoed 325 333 before heads and cam with bolt ons. This was with 98 heads.

The chambers were welded by Patriot to 59cc so you retain stock deck height minus the .004 for clean-up.
Heads were just reworked Guides, Valves, and Seals have less than 45 miles on them. They were decked .004 to clean up. Competition valve job
Patriot Gold springs good to .650 lift. All springs checked out good.

are you SURE these won't work with my cam? what if i bought them anyway? what cam WOULD work?
These are older 6.0 casting with welded chambers. Patriot no longer produces these. These are LS6 "style" heads but not 243 LS6/LS2 castings.
YES these will fit your cam.

that is what i was wanting to hear. i have the old 6.0 castings, and after talking with both Gunnar and guys from TSP (who said a TSP 231/237 cam would fit w/out flycutting), its nice to hear the same words from you as well. looks like im good to go with my cam swap from my 224 .581 @112lsa to the 231/237 over the winter...

you guys are being very helpful and i really do appreciate the info from all this and what i've learned branching off from here...

...but now i'm having 2nd thoughts....nothing against Patriot (i may still buy 'em), but i'm getting a little more greedy in my quest for power. i can't really decide what i want since i drive the car a lot, but it's not really a true DD. i'm gonna take it to the track, but "just to see"....most of the action will be on the street i'm sure. Patrick G's 500rwhp recipe is very enticing as is his "torque" cam he spec'd out with different heads....i'm not sure what to do...

BUT i'd still like to hear from satisfied/dissatisfied Patriot customers and whatnot...

thanks again guys

I have a 346CI bottom end with Mahle 1cc, forged rods, LS6 intake, 85 mm throttle body (OEM), 85MM MAF, equal length long tube headers 1 5/8" (soon to be stepped to 1 3/4") 595/605 232/238 111 LSA, Patriot LS6 "style" heads 64CC welded and I made 424 RWHP.

I think an even bigger cam, FAST 90/90, larger injectors, better ported TB and roller rockers will get me easily over 460 RWHP.

Best 1/4 mile: 11.44 @ 129 MPH (yeah...it takes a while to hook up on
street tires!)
60 ft time: 1.85 (suck ***)

yeah there's more power in there. my FAST got me 24 rwhp after i "ported" it....stock everything else minus cam and bolt-ons and 9".

the higher-ups keep changing our work schedule for my field service next week, so i have no clue how much $$$ i'll be making. i'm starting to lean towards AFR 205's or ET 215's if i have the extra cash, but we'll see what happens.

STILL, i'd like to see what everyone is getting out of there Patriot's as i may end up with a set...

thanks again guys for all the info...

I definitely think so too.

I think I should be in the 470ish range with my setup.
