Default TPS sensor problem.

Alright, I have been trying to figure this out a couple days, and still no idea. I just got my ls1 rebuilt and they sent everything back. Put the throttle body on (one I was sent) and attached the sensors. The TPS sensor does not fit on. The groove on the butterfly valve pin on the side does not line up with the TPS grove, I tried everything, and ended up forcing it on, only to break the plastic part inside the TPS. I don't know if they sent me a different throttle body or if I have the wrong TPS, or if something is just adjusted wrong, but everything looks exactly like it should, just doesn't line up. Any ideas? This has been holding up my project for the past couple weeks and I am getting really irritated with the problem. Any advice on what might be the problem?
Thanks,
John

here is a picture of the engine bay I took last week that I cropped, I am away from the car right now and can't get a good picture, but the tps is hanging below the sensor mount. best I could come up with for now. I destroyed the quality, but I guess its better than no picture.

"If it don't fit, force it" doesn't apply in these situations, but you've probably realized that by now. That sounds like some kind of a locator key. Why not just bring the throttlebody to the parts store and get one of the shelf that matches up?

Yea I can't even see in that pic.

If the TB is for an LS1 the TPS sensor should fit with no problems.

Are there throttle bodies that look identical to the LS1 TB's that would possibly cause that problem? They could have send me the wrong TB. I am sure that the TPS is the correct one, because I have bought two now, and they are identical.

One I got from ebay, listed as the same part number as the one I had checked out at the dealership. Another I had picked out of a Pontiac in the junk yard, because I didn't want to break another $30 sensor trying to do the same thing. Both the exact same. I am quite sure that I got the right ones. I have more doubt about having the correct TB.
