Default changing rod bolts to ARP/torque specs

When doing arp bolts, what torque specs are you using? They said there diff. from stocker specs. Changing out rod bolts and head bolts from a cam swap. Are they still torque to yeild or just 1 torque spec with a wrench? Putting it toghter tonight so the sooner the better.

THIS IS FOR MY BUDDYS '00 LS1, NOT MY CAR.

they recommend you use a stretch gauge, but you can torque them also. torque em to 45 lb. ft., loosen them, torque to 45, loosen them, and torque to 45 again. they recommend checking the length and recording it each time and replacing any bolts that are stretching abnormally, though I don't remember what the tolerances are off the top of my head. they'll fax you the install sheet if you call them

For my studs I use their torque sequence/numbers which I think are 30-45-70 or something of the likes, then I retorque after an hour, let them sit overnight, then retorque again. Never had a problem with any sort of leaks this way. I would think you should do the same idea for your bolts, although the tq numbers are prob diff.

"ARP recommends using the STRETCH METHOD for installing bolts. Follow the instructions for using a stretch gauge. Stretch bolts to .0055 +/-.0002

If you do not have a stretch gauge, follow these steps using the ARP Moly Assembly Lube. After rods are installed into the motor, torque bolts to 45 ft lbs. Loosen the bolts. Torque to 45 ft lbs again. Loosen the bolts and torque to 45 ft lbs a third and final time

A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length should be replaced."

straight from the ARP instructions they sent me after I lost the sheet that was included in the package

well i did some research on replacing the rod bolts. A lot of people said you need to change the rods or re check clearance when replacing the stockers to arp ones. So now were reconsidering swaping them out. Unless its not as hard as it seems.

You also need to see whether or not you have rod bolt ferrules. I can't remember which years came with them and which didn't.
