Default ok, scrutinize this combo...

i trashed my 408 so now im geting the TSP 396 offset, but while in gatering fundage, in gonna run this..
stock rebuilt bottom end
S1 5.3 heads milled .015 2.00/1.56 stainless valves (11.1CR)
hotcam (ya i know but its all i have right now
3.73, and a MW3600 verter.
longtubes with true dual(X-pipe)
ls6 intake (its 2001)
85mm MAF
and programming from RMS....
and a 150 shot.....

ok let the flamming begin, PROS<CONS, whatev, its a STREET CAR not a Track or Dyno *****.

pistons and valves had a disagreement, they both lost.

Over all, it looks like a pretty cool engine (wish I could afford that...). You said you have a "stock rebuilt bottom end." Does that mean stock pistons? If so, I would say spend the money and go forged. The factory crank is plenty strong. The rods are good IF you replace the bolts with a set from ARP. Also, use studs where ever you can. They are stronger and easier to work with.

The hot cam is REALLY small for that much engine. I don't know if you are interested, but I have a 234/230 on a 112LSA that I had ground for my engine never used.

The engine in question isn't 396, but , I believe, 346 stock block with S1 heads , hotcam and LT's

what does he mean by this then.......I thought he was talking about an offset ground crank to make 396 CIs???
