Default copper spray issues

I used some copper spray on my cometics and some of it came off when i was slidding the gasket on, i was told it should be a problem. AM i in for a leaky head gasket?

well if some came of it just re-spray the gasket. when i used cometics in the past i use to spray them also, but onces i finished applying at least 3 coats to each side i let them dry really good before i installed them but when i installed them i tryied being as carefull as i could be. I recommend respray them before you put the heads on just in case they do leak.

if it starts to leak, just clean them up again, and apply the copper spray as recommended in the prior post. you can reuse your cometics.

If it starts to leak use silver spray paint instead of the copper spray. Let it dry and re-install the gaskets. The silver spray paint has worked better for me than the copper coat on my other apps.

I thought the ARP torque with their lube was 70. Why overtighten? Did you discuss this with ARP first?

they loosen after the first few heat cycles, just do that from personal experience, never had a problem before.

i use 3 coats of copper and when the 3rd coat gets tacky i set them in place and torque 25/50/80 , put 250 miles on the car and retorque to 90.

I did what ARP said ,, once

Then i listened to the old schoolers and never had a problem ever again , and i spray AlOt of nitrous ,, hehe
