TR220 114 would be a good sleeper cam; just raise the idle speed a little and run some quiet mufflers on your duals. Another good one would be the MTI B1 or even the Hammer cam on a 114 LSA. I wouldn't go to the trouble of installing a LS6 cam; too much work for a swap to another factory cam IMHO.

Let's talk streetracing.

I can hear the 220/220//114 I guess it depends on your audience.

A buddy had a 216/220//115 and that cam sounded waaaay stock.

theres the comp cams 212/218-.558/.563-115 also... should split the difference between the ls6 and lpe cams... has more intake duration, a bit less lsa and lift...

I have a 98 z-28 M6,Im looking for a great "Sleeper" cam. needs to sound stock.

98 Z-28 M6, True duals, MTI Lid, Hooker LT's, Spec Stage 3 Carbon Clutch, HD Posi, B&M shifter, LS6 Intake.

With Headers and true duals you're going to have to get one very wussy cam to keep it sounding stock. The exhaust plays a HUGE factor in deciding what the cam will sound like. A TR227/224 cam sounds stock through stock manifolds, stock cats, and stock mufflers, but sounds like a mean lopey machine with longtubes, no cats, and a very unrestrictive muffler.

If you are trying not to scare folks I would not run true duals.

02 LS6 cam is a sleeper, I have not heard the LPE cam otherwise I would have an opinion.

LPE cam's exhaust bias is for stock manifold cars. Not enough intake duration for me.

I agree that a TR 220/220 114 is nearly perfect as a sleeper. A 900 rpm idle would hide it with a quiet exhaust. You could add another 1 or 2 degrees to the LSA to get even more of a sleeper idle. With a 116 LSA add 2 - 4 degrees of advance.

I wanted a sleeper cam, so I picked up a Comp Cams XTreme RPM grind, #CCA-54-426-11, but ground on a 115 LSA. Specs are 222/224 duration, .566/.568 lift. I'll have it installed the weekend after this.

Hey Killer, I was going to get that cam but I wound up getting a TR224 since it was on a GP for a good price. I'll be interested to hear how it works out for you. BTW, a don't think it will be much of a sleeper cam, even on a 115 LSA. :p

The MTI B1 cam is definitely NOT a sleeper cam. If you have any kind of aftermarket cat-back, you will hear it chopping from several yards away. Better go smaller.
