Default Cam lift and other questions

I'm looking for some basic cam info. links would be great

Whats the hp difference bt a 530 lift and 560 lift on the same duration and cl? Does the lift effect the idle lope?
I'm trying to figure out if its worth it in a daily driver to go with the higher lift cam? Or if its just more stress on the valve train?
Thanks

The lift doesn't hardly affect lope at all; lope is cause by valve overlap which is a function of duration and LSA (Lobe Separation Angle.) The hp difference between .530 and .560 lift depends on the cam duration and whether you are using stock heads or ported heads with bigger valves. On stock heads I'm guessing it would be about 5hp-10hp, on ported heads could be 10hp-15hp. The .530 would be easier on the valvetrain; with a .560 lift you need stiff springs, hardened pushrods, and titanium retainers, or you could use LS6 hollow valves but that would be expensive. Otherwise the valvetrain will be too heavy for that kind of lift. You should do spring maintenance once a year on a high lift setup unless you have the hollow LS6 valves.
