I dont care if its a sleeper or not I want loud choppy idle I believe a cammed car should sound cammed but I just want good pull from 3k-6k kinda like the stock cam does but with making nearly 400rwhp instead of what a bolt on car makes

yeah i would go something like a 224 or 228 but if you hve the funds i would go with a yank ss3600 or something with that cam and the lsa you could always go lower to get a more choppy idle

A cam only A4 won't see 400rwhp as easily as an M6 will. If you aren't concerned with street manners as much, look into something like the TSP MS3 or an LG G5X3. You'll want to look at stalls in the 4000rpm range for them to be truly effective.

I installed a TR230/224 a few months ago and I absolutely love it. It makes awesome power everywhere. It was night and day difference in how hard it pulled at any speed and any RPM. I was running a SS4000 converter with it until I blew my tranny. Now I am waiting for my PT4400 to go in front of my FLT level 4. Also some 4.10's in the rear. I think I'll like it a little more. But as far as that cam, I would highly recommend that one. Sounds mean as hell but drives great. A member on here named Gilbot made 399 rear wheel with this cam, a PT4000 and Mac mids. I haven't dynoed yet, but I will soon.

I had a 236-240-114 .590/.590 in my A4 with 3.91 gears. Pulled exceptionally well. Best cam out of the others I have had by far and for street duties. I have had:

212-220-112
228-232-112
236-240-114

Now, Im going 260+. But that's another story...

Personally, for street, and in a stock cube LS1, I love the 240-244-114 with around 0.590-0.625 lift. Awesome street/strip combo and even with a 3000 stallie perfect street manners. I guess part of that comes down to how well you can tune it.

A 224/112 will give you the power band you want, but not the peak. You'll need a better set of heads to get above 400. I drive about 300 miles a week and the cam is very driveable with a good lope.
