Default Cam help

I have been sitting here contemplating on what kind of cam I want. I have a 2002 Camaro z28 a4.I will be driving this somewhat daily after the install however only for a few months. I was wondering what is good to make some serious power that is still somewhat reliable. The only other mods that I have are dual 3 inch exhaust into bullets also lid and the stock ls6 intake. Please also let me know around what power range im gonna be at with a good tune.

any decent sized cam with stock exhaust manifolds is going to suck (and not in the good way), and the cam would have to be specced differently to make optimum power. Get some longtubes first.

228/232 110+2 on x-er lobes.

comp 918 springs or the similar crane ones, yank pt4000 stall and 3:42 or 3:73 gears would suit it very well.

I have a 228/232 myself wouldn't go any bigger on a daily driver I don't think.. shifting at 6400 is good enough for me, dont want to go higher on my weaker 99 rod bolts. You could go bigger, but as an A4, your trans is going to hold you back, the stock A4 does not like to be revved really high.

Great reccommendation, I agree 100%. After all my research and talking with many, this is what I too came up with and was going to go with. I am getting a 408 now so different plans. I reccommend degreeing it by 2-4* via timing chain or ground into the cam. There's one for sale in the classifieds right now too, almost bought it, its brand new. Good Luck

I recommend the TR230/224 on a 111 LSA. Sounds means as hell and makes awesome power everywhere. I run it with a PT4400 and 3.23's right now and it's a monster on the highway. Track times coming in November.

Thanks soo much for the help. I know my trans is already sorta giving me hell.Everytime I get full throttle I pull into the red line and will hear sort of a pop. O well though you have to pay to play right?

Slight change of plans. I may actually go heads and cam at the same time.I planned on doing heads in the future but im pretty sure doing them at the same time would be a bit cheaper then at seperate times.If anyone could let me know the best package to make around 450 reliably it would be much appreciated.Also I was wondering is it better to get the stock heads machined or to purchase another pair .
