Re: Meziere Street Electric WP Results and Impressions
how can this free up HP when the belt STILL rides on it???? I can see it being worth doing IF the belt weren't riding on it anymore.
so the pulley is now a fan for the motor?

Re: Meziere Street Electric WP Results and Impressions
The way it frees horsepower is: The belt no longer drives the water through the pump and passages. The pulley has bearings that allow it to spin freely as a guide for the belt. The power needed to push the water is now done electricly. Not only will you get better cooling at low speeds, you get better power output at high RPM. As for the fan, understand that built into the pulley is small shapes that direct air across the electic motor (not the car's engine). For power (over 10 HP uncorrected) for convience (cool down between rounds) for better cooling at low speeds (flows more water than the stock pump below 4000 RPM) and good looks (billet available in 4 colors or natural) I think there are many reasons to run the pump. We are thinking about making a pump with a vette logo pulley on it. I was just curious how many vetter guys/gals would like that?

The price you quoted is the old style pump price.

The street version hasn't been released yet and as per Meziere it's going to be over $500. Are you sure you got the street version and not the "race pump"?

Re: Meziere Street Electric WP Results and Impressions
I asked if it had the provisions for the heater and thermostat and I was told 'yes' and that it was the street version. They only had the black in at this time, but they said the other colors were due to arrive with in a week. I ordered it from SDPC. Well, I'm calling them to double check anyway, just to be sure.... I thought it was too good to be true.....

Well, it was the race version. Thanks guys for preventing me from having to deal with that hassle. Looks like I'll have to find something else to buy now. Hey Paul, got any of those ASP pullies in stock?

The race version is fine on the street, you just need to tweak it a little. I've had mine for a year with heater, power steering, and zero problems on the street!

This 'little tweak' would make a great writeup.
Has anyone else seen or taken a photo of a modified race pump?

I'm just too lazy to rehash it, but to summarize you get the tensioner from Meziere, run no thermostat (temps stays at 180), and tap in fitting for the heater.

Don't think that will work. The impeller is designed to sling water one way.
I will trun it around and bount it backwards that way the impeller will go the proper way for reverse cooling. --->
