Vinci/Crane does 2 at a time. Tim's does 1. Vinci/Crane is worth the extra cost.

Search for 99blancoSS, he rents the damn thing out. I went that route and was happy I didn't blow the money on a one use tool.

it's a great tool to have. most people put a cam and springs in think they are only going to use it once. most places recommend replacing your springs about every 25k miles. you'll end up using it more than once.

As stated I rent it out with all the other little trick tools: Crane Dual spring tool, air hose/ fitting, pulley install tool, comp cam pushrod length checker and JPR rods. Even have a puller now for aftermarket pulleys.
I wouldnt do springs without it. Its funny though. SOme people will use that home made tool and take 2 to 3 times as long. Even my tuner has a home made tims tool thing and I laugh at him everytime I see it. The Crane tool would have paid itself off for him on its first use.

I have the Crane/Vinci valve spring tool. Buy it or rent it, but it is the best way to go, especially on an f-body where the rear springs are out of sight. The tool was designed to be very easy to use on those rear springs.

Having just done this last Saturday, I agree.
On Friday I would have disagreed. I wanted to "concentrate" on 1 valve spring at a time.
But when it's getting late in the day, you've completed the cam swap and everything is back together except for the valve spring swap, the thought of using the compressor 32 times (once to get the old spring off, once to put the new one on) is just overWHELMing..............lol. After that deal I didn't give a **** if I ever saw a valve spring compressor again.
Get the Crane and save yourself a lot of extra work.

You got to be kidding me.
If you cant make that thing you shouldnt be doing your own spring swap. I've seen versions of the "Tim" or "Larry" (Larry was the original) double springer as well

i have/used the tim's tool with the additional air hose connector on my f-body. worked ok but was so slow. i put in 2 sets of springs in the last month and what a hassle. the air hose is so stiff it is hard to feed into the spark plug hole, especially the back cylinders. needs a swivel or something on the end so you can "spin" it in vs having to spin the whole hose. if i do it again i will splurge and get a double spring compressor like the crane one. my time and back(!) are worth it. if tim wants to improve his tool he should:

1) develop a twin spring unit
2) improve the air hose

my opinion.

I used the Crane Compressor several times and it works great and cuts down on the time of changing out springs.
