runs horrible after cam install... i just finished my tr224 swap to a t-rex advanced +2 with hand ported stock heads.. and i took and plugged the EGR off real good. its loading and back firing when comming from mid rpms back down to idle. and feels like it has no power whatsoever when WOT
my question is is this normal. i mean my car ran kinda crappy when i went from stock to the 224/ but this is worse. think a tune would clear all of this up?

Im amazed you got that to run .... let alone a TREX, jeez. I though i would have get a trailer to take it to a shop to tune it after a tr224 install.

To the O.P., I don't see a converter in your sig. Are you still on the stocker?? Cause if so your car really isn't gonna be happy when you get on the dyno with that big *** cam & a stock stall. And yea, a T-rex without a tune isn't gonna run that great to begin with. It's definetly a cam that needs tuning to drive around safely.
I'm running my 224 cam & added some heads without a tune. Been driving it everyday for about 3 months. Gas mileage even stayed the same & no SES light. Thats a reason the 224 cam was so popular back when the LS1 first came out. You could install it & it will drive on a stock tune.
