Default See and hear my car after 228/224 Cam and S2 Heads

I posted this on LS1.Com a few days ago when I couldn't get logged on this site, so here it is again for those of you who don't visit the other board.

Well, tons of you have asked about it, and until now, I didn't have any way to get a good audio or video clip into my computer. I ended up just borrowing a camcorder and making a short video. Then I took the tape to a guy at work, and he transferred it to a raw video file then burned it to a CD for me. I got it home and messing with Windows Movie Maker, I came up with this.

Both of these links are for the same video. One is 20.4MB, the other is 8.9MB. Obviously the larger one looks and sounds better, but the content is the same. Those of you with high download speeds (broadband/DSL/T1), definitely get the larger one. Each video is about 3 minutes long.

Just wondering why you install the cam with only +2 ?? because here is someone did it with +4 and the car is great !

The reason I chose +2 was because I was paranoid about piston to valve clearance. I didn't have the ability to clay it to check for myself, so I went with Comp XE lobes instead of XER lobes, and I went with +2 instead of +4. I probably could have went with +4, but oh well!

I have a the smae cam with more lift that put down 406 rwhp throught the Corsa/ORYP. The numbers seem low to me.

You have an M6, I have an A4. Figure a 15-20 RWHP difference because of the increased HP loss through an automatic. Having no cats is also worth another 10 RWHP. I also have my stock throttle body, which is usually got for another 5 RWHP.

I'm assuming you have stock heads based on your sig. If we level the playing field, I should be at 430-435 RWHP with a M6 and your setup. Thats about right for me having ported heads. My heads were ported for excellent midlift numbers so I would have as much low end torque as possible, so a 30 RWHP peak difference between heads like mine and stock is not out of the ordinary.

I think my numbers are damn good considering how little I spent on this whole project.

As for piston to valve clearance, all I can tell you is I haven't smacked a valve yet. I never clayed my pistons, so I really don't know how much more room I have.
