When I ordered my 383 LS1 block from Lingenfelter, I sprung the extra cash to get the ARP rod bolts (as well as ARP studs on the Main bearings).

For me it was the extra piece of mind....no problems!

If you use ARP bolts your motor will explode, as well as the motors of the last four cars you most recently passed, followed by slipping transmissions of your immediate family's cars, and possibly close friends will be a little low on tire pressure. Every time you dont resize your cracked rods, god kills a kitten.

Seriously, I know several people who are running both the standard and the pro ARP rod bolts in their otherwise stock bottom ends without any issues.

We're talking about rod bolts. Not head bolts.

Why would I want to replace the rod bolts in a cam only motor and how difficult is the install for a shop? Just remove oil pan and put these in?
