Buddy wants to sell me 2002 Z06 heads, how much???
He works at a dealership and has a set of 2002 Z06 heads with less than 1500 miles on them. I have a 98, will they bolt directly on w/o any problems??? He wants to know a good price to sell them so I"m asking u guys, what's a good price??? Again, he's a good friend so it should be a "friend price". He also has a LS6 intake, how much for that??? same milage on it.

perhaps $300 (they flow a little better than LS1 heads)
yes they will bolt to your block (I think you need the newer gasket though....not the 1998 version....).....but they won't use your current valve covers or coil pack holders (brackets)....you will need to get new ones (unless you get his old ones).

All I have to say is that if you get them under 500 bucks, you are stealing them. Check out how much they would cost OEM brand new. Also you may want to ask a TRUSTED local tuner the same question. LS6 heads are generally about the equivalent of Stage 1 LS1 heads. So that also may give you a starting point. Again, anything under 500 bucks is robbery.....but then again, I have been wrong before.

if they are real LS6 heads Jer, then GO FOR IT. now just bolting them on isnt going to make a huge difference in power, but when you start doing a lot of mods (cam, headers, ls6 intake, porting, etc) then those ls6 heads will shine, esp in upper rpm.
anything under 750-1000 bucks is a GREAT deal. hell, if you dont want them, let me know, i will pick them up!

Thanks everyone, I thought 200-350 was very cheap. 500-1000 sounds better, even tho I would like to pay 300. I seen some on ebay for 1000 and knew that wasn't a "friend price". I know the intake doesn't wear, don't know why I said that. Hell, the same guy sold me a set of 315 DR nittos with 100 miles on them and one burnout for.........200. I'll tell him maybe 500.

I don't think 2002 heads will bolt up to a 98. 98 is perimeter bolt and 2002 is center bolt. Correct? Or is that the just valve cover? I've never done it before just going by what people have said on here. But I always remeber there being a diff. between heads when people were selling them on this board.

find out what year the heads are ...2002 and newer used the lightweight sodium-filled valves and they are worth more...$300 is a steal...
..you could mill them 40 thou and get some more compression and power...just bolt them on with a new cam...
...the newer heads gaskets should work,,,

Thanks everyone for their help, greatly appreciate it. I wasn't planing on putting them on without P/P and a lil bit of milling job + a cam.

everything isnt ebay...i would never pay over 1k bucks for a set of cores....i would say under 500 is a good deal though, but 700 seems to be a "fair" price from the sets i have seen everywhere...thats just imo..

Bare means without valves. ...the new 2002 valves are sodium filled and are VERY pricey....
If these are 2002 heads, keep the valves...they may be fine with new springs....you said they are low mileage heads right? ...this is hard to prove, I suppose...

Man, folks are harsh on the values.. Heads would sell for $1000 in a heartbeat, and the intake, again, instantly for $350.. You can adjust those for your "friend" rate, but those are VERY fair prices, and much less than that would be rippin' your friend.
