I forgot how much I paid, I just new it was very cheap. No, no gear is needed. Although I've heard the LS2 chain on the LS1 gear is a pretty tight fit? Was fine for me, but I think at one time in the car's life it was replaced with the LS2 gear... and chain. I really gotta run the VIN and find out what service work was done to this thing

I spent about 1 month deciding to get a cam, and about 10 minutes deciding which one. I just sent Pat G a request and he got me set up. I wish I went with a bigger cam at this point

Isn't that over $1k? I like that package though. I dont have to go buy a bunch of individual parts.

If i add the pushrods, oil pump and pulley its like $1100

Oh you want the pulley too. Did I miss that? Then yes it's over 1k. I got 950 with the LS2 chain from TSP or wherever.

Can't go wrong with either of those shops. Got the cam itself from those guys, very helpful and patient.

just a chain is fine, unless for some reason when you have it apart the sprockets look fuged up.

imo i would wait for a sponcer to have a sale, i know what i want but im waiting for the sale.

also im sticking with the stock pulley.

I have the specs from patrick, i'll just buy the chain and wait to see how it all looks. I was just going to get the pulley because i thought i should try to gain some extra power. What are the downsides of a pulley? I have a sound system, is that a problem?

you mine as well do the pulleye while you are doing the cam, have to pull the crank pulleye anyways. Why pay to do it later down the road? Again your right there already..

And all you need is an LS2 timing chain, no need for a gear

So did you buy everything from MPH and then bought the custom cam from thunder?

If so, how did you do that if the custom cam comes in the package deal?
