Default How do I know which way to install Eagle rods?

Am I suppose to install the eagle rods with a specific side facing the front of the engine or does it not matter?

yes it does matter and there should be a small arrow on the side of the rod that should be pointing to the front of the motor. if not there i would contact eagle and ask if it's necessary.

there should be a flat spot on the diameter of the rod where it bolts to the crank. one side is a thicker machined spot than the other. install the widest ones towards each other. if that makes any sense

for a LS1 motor, the offset of the rod all face the same direction. i want to say the large offset goes to the front, but don't remember for sure.

on the crank end, the chamfered side faces the crank throws, and the flat sides will face eachother

+1. If you look closely, where the rod touches the crank, one side is beveled and one side isn't. The non beveled sides should be together. When you put your pistons on 4 should be one way, the other 4 the opposite. Look closely, you'll see it.

You should always install the rods with the bearing retention tang facing up while the motor is rolled over on the engine stand looking at the crank.
