Is this normal??
Are these factory clearancing marks? Or was something going on here? These are my stock 241 heads. If its not normal..what do you think caused it? http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...amaroSS016.jpg

Those are the rocker arms hitting the wall of the cylinder head. Are you running aftermarket rockers?
I went to aftermarket Yella Terras and when installing them, I noticed a couple of them would scrape the CH wall and wouldn't move freely. I took all of them off and using a Dremel grinder, ground down that same area for clearance.
Your valvetrain's gotta be noisy as hell running those like that.

Must be factory. All factory valvetrain and I highly doubt anything was changed. The springs that are in it now have red stripes?..the rockers also show no sign of rubbing

Wow. That's interesting. My heads are Stage II Patriot LS6 style heads, which I think Patriot uses LQ9 truck heads and reworks them. Thing is, they didn't have the groove you guys are talking about. See pic, I had to go and grind down the wall of the head to allow enough clearance so the Yella Terras would clear the wall and not scrape.
Good thing I caught the problem as I was torquing the second set of rockers...
